Knob Creek '13- The Quaker Mk48

by Chris Cheng

The gun community is full of interesting characters, and Knob Creek is quite the place for people watching. Pictured here is my new Quaker friend Valerie of Great Machine LLC with an Mk46 lower with Mk48 parts, chambered in .308 that the company will be producing and selling in about six month’s time.

Based out of Ohio, Valerie noted that all parts will be made in-house, with the exception of its plastic parts, which will also be made in the U.S.

They also make closed-bolt rifles along with ARs, and other goodies.

You can contact Valerie via their website.

@ This one's our working prototype, we're starting production within six months. Meanwhile, this one is taking a beating, getting tweaked and carted to range after range. We promise the end result will be prettier :)

Are you sure she is a Quaker and not a Mennonite? I've never seen Quakers wearing the little cap like Valerie but have seen Mennonites (and Amish) doing so. I spent 4 years at a Quaker college (Guilford) so am quite familiar with Quakerism.

Both the Quakers and Mennonites are both pacifist religions.
