EOTech News – Green reticles and Vudu 5-25×50 FFP Riflescope

I never really thought about it, and don’t know if EOTech’s claim is correct or not, but with the release of their Green reticles, we’re told that they’re about six times easier to see than red ones during the daytime.

I never had a problem seeing the red dot, dots or whatever reticle the manufacturer put in their red dot or holographic sight.

“Green” normally means ECO or environmentally friendly but strangely enough EOTech doesn’t mention anything about this, thanks for that.

If you’re into Green – there are two new models to chose from. The Model XPS2 Green and EXPS2 Green.

Below: The Green reticle, with 1 MOA in the middle and a 68 MOA ring. The 1 MOA dot is nice. I’m thinking one of my rifles needs an EOTech with a magnifier.

    Model XPS2 Green

The Green reticle is approximately 6X easier to see than red in daytime which can lead to faster target acquisition. With a single 123 lithium battery configuration, the XPS provides additional rail space, leaving more room for rear iron sights or magnifiers. Also offering water-resistant capability up to10 feet, the XPS2TM is a great compact option for your platform.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price is $665.

    Model EXPS2 Green

The EXPS2-GRN also maximizes rail space with its compact size and allows for co-witnessing of iron sights. It has convenient side buttons to add a magnifier and features an adjustable, locking, quick-detach lever for easy attachment and removal.

There is no price mentioned for this new sight.

Both “Green” EOTechs are shipping late Spring 2018.

But that’s not enough, there’s also a new EOTech First Focal Plane (FFP) riflescope. Only 11.2″ long, it’s going to be one of the shortest FFP scopes on the market.

The high-end Schmidt & Bender 5-20×50 PM II Ultra Short is 11,77″ to compare, which I have been looking to put on an AR10. Just beware that not all mounts will work with short optics like this, for instance, Spuhr has developed special mounts just for the Ultra Short.

The new EOTech joins the Vudu line, with a power between 5-25×50 FFP. It will be available this Summer and prices start at $2,099.

The New Vudu 5-25 x 50 mm is ideal for the short platform rifles. At approximately 11.2 inches in length, the 5-25x is one of the shortest first focal plane rifle scopes on the market. The elevation turret includes a push/pull locking system and EOTECH’s EZ Chek Zero Stop allowing for quick adjustments and return to zero. One unique advantage of the short design is that it provides the ability to attach either a clip-on night-vision or thermal device in front of the scope and still allow the user to make adjustments to the device without leaving the scope.

What’s your preference? Red or Green?
