Kahles Factory Tour: Premium Austrian Optics

Wrapping up our coverage of some of Austria’s top manufacturers in the firearms industry, we take a factory tour at the Kahles factory. As the company that really pioneered the modern riflescope that we all know and love, Kahles has been making cutting edge scopes for over a century. Today they produce the Kahles K624i, one of the most used rifle scopes in the precision rifle shooting community. Every Ritter & Stark gun that we shot had one of their scopes mounted on it, and with them being one of the best precision scopes in the world it isn’t hard to see why.

Once you step foot onto the assembly room floor, it is very easy to see why these scopes demand a premium price. The attention that every employee that is involved in building a rifle scope gives to ensuring a quality product leaves their building is nothing short of awesome.

Kahles scopes are pricey, but their quality is beyond excellent. I have an older model Helia that I’m extremely happy with.
The only scope I have with higher optical quality is an old steel tube Swarovski Habicht that’s huge and very heavy, but the optics are insanely clear and it works amazingly well in low light conditions such as dawn and dusk hunting.
