No, you aren’t looking at a mistake. This was done intentionally.

According to MBX, this offset will make a PCC shooter faster since they do not need to waste time getting a proper cheek weld to get their sight picture. In theory that works for strong handed shooting only. But once you need to lean hard left and shoot from your weak shoulder around a barricade things get tricky. You could roll the gun to get the optic closer to your left eye but now you shift POI.

I know speed is critical in USPSA but the compromise seems too great for the modicum of speed you might gain from this. The good thing is it only costs $25 for the off set plate.

Maybe they should make a wider plate and put two cmores on the gun.

  • Heartbreaker

This might make more sense for a right handed shooter with left eye dominance.

    • Just the facts

As a person who is exactly that, right-handed with left eye dominance, I have a hard time using any optics with both eyes open and would love to try one of these out.

      • Jeremy Nettles

Because I’m woefully bad at left-handed shooting, I’ve trained my right eye to take the lead when I’m shooting. This basically consisted of shooting and dry-firing with a magnified optic and both eyes open, A LOT. Now I shoot both eyes open with a 1x red dot as well. Open sights are doable too, but it still takes a little concentration.

    • Sam

Right handed, left eye dominant. Never had a problem shooting rifles. Red dots are especially easy with both eyes open.

    • Dr. Longfellow Buchenrad

I immediately thought the same thing

    • Old Vet

Or in my case, left eye is the only one with vision now. I use weaver mounts with the offset scope rings and it works out pretty well on AR’s but I don’t need it on Mini-14 style rifles.

  • Edeco

Took me a moment to figure out, forgot sometimes people use AR’s with the ejection port facing away from themselves.

  • Joshua

That double optic would be amazing with that double barrel, double mag AR-15 Israel made.

    • Nicholas C

Actually it would make sense to have dual red dots, one in front of the other. That is what I did with a DP-12.

      • guest

you’ll have to explain the “sense” in that one

        • Nicholas C

The DP-12 barrels are parallel. Typically good side by side rifles or shotguns have registered barrels that have converging POI. I was shooting slugs out to 100 yards and wanted to make sure I was hitting the target. So I had two red dots. One for each barrel. sort of a DIY BDC reticle.

  • Interesting idea, but I am not sure how well it would work at major matches around here. Long shots, hard cover, and no shoots are fairly common at a major match.

We used to call putting a no shoot covering the lower half of the A zone a “F Open Target” because their Cmores put the dot at a much higher offset.

    • It’s super evil on the turtle shells.

  • gunsandrockets

dual sight installation needs a fake mustache slapped on to complete the look.

    • noob

The dual sight should have the dots on the same point at infinity, so the red dot should only be visible in one sight at a time

  • Roons

Wouldn’t this cause an issue when you need to shoot WHO? You still need to move the rifle to your weak hand shoulder and now the C-More is farther away.

    • Nicholas C

Yes. which is why you should have TWO C-More!!!

  • roguetechie

Dude… Someone needs to send Gilboa the last picture from this post…

    • Phillip Cooper

Argh. That’s actually painful to look at.

      • Jeremy Nettles

My brain thinks my eyes are misaligned, and is trying to correct it. It’s not working. Headache setting in…

However, Steve Buscemi has never looked better…

      • carlcasino

Wait till you try it with new bifocals after not wearing glasses for 7-8 years.

  • Hrachya H

May work for cross-eye dominant people.

  • Klaus Von Schmitto

The Jack-Knife Barber better watch his ass now.

  • DetroitMan

Cheek weld, pfffft. Who needs that?

NYET !!! Rifle is good as is !!!
