Here is an interesting customization. Offset iron sights for when shooting your handgun sideways. The gun appears to be a Hi-Point hydrodipped in hundred dollar bills. Now while many of us may jump to the conclusion that this is for the gangster to more accurately shoot their gun sideways, I think it could be actually beneficial. In the odd happenstance where one might have to shoot their gun sideways through a narrow port they might have a better chance of aiming with these sideways pistol sights than turning one’s head 90 degrees to aim with the regular sights. Having options is nice.

    So much ninjabux. Wow.

      Gangstabux.

  • K-Gunner

You have to be impressed that someone would (a) spend more than the gun’s value to hydro dip it; (b) put Homeboy Sights on; and (c) ironically cover it in a $100 bill motif when the gun should really only be covered in a $5 bill, or maybe even some sort of coin, motif. Play on playa!

    • Nicholas C

I think the money hydrodip is a factory finish.

      • K-Gunner

Oh wow. That’s just atrocious. I hope the factory burns down.

Love your work here, Nicholas C. Thanks!

The problem with Hi-Points are they’re powder coated inside and out. If you read my comment above, I said that I had done a few things to my Hi-Points and the VERY FIRST thing I do when I buy a new one is sand the load ramp down to a stainless finish. Since I’ve been doing this, out of the 8 I’ve owned, I’ve YET to have one jam or NOT eject properly

    • It’s a factory paint job (Hi Point knows their customers) and I plan to buy one soon. It’s going to be a favorite at our range days! =) #ImSerious #GotBenjisOnMyGat

      • Harry’s Holsters

It’s like a $10 or $20 upcharge lol. If I were buying a brand new high point I’d get it! I don’t know why but I’m on a waiting list at my shop for when they get a used one to sell for under $125. I figure I’d be fun to shoot and I wouldn’t lose more than $30 bucks when I sell it. I want to run some courses of fire and compare it to my glocks!

        • derpmaster

We had one a while ago. It honestly wasn’t bad. Plenty reliable and more accurate than a lot of more expensive pistols. Heavy and ugly as sin, but I have respect for the Hi Point. If they made one in 10mm I’d grab it in a heartbeat.

        • Craig Fisher

I’d really like for you to get one as well. I’ve owned Glock’s, Smith’s & Beretta’s I done a few custom things to my .45 and my .380 and I can tell you from a view point of owning many different brands…for the money, I’ll take the Hi-Point EVERY TIME !!! They’re a little heavy, but that comes in nice when firing the .45, it barley kicks ! Good Luck and get back to us and let us know what you think. I’ll be glad to share the custom work I done that will ensure it to NEVER jam.

          • Harry’s Holsters

Bulletslinger on Instagram who works for salient has built a legit salient Hi point. Not photoshop. It looks pretty dang good. I do hate the size of the hipoint for the capacity but I do look forward to purchasing one and seeing what it’ll do.

Wasn’t that an April Fools prank? Is it one of those jokes that took off like that Think Geek Tauntaun sleeping bag?

      • K-Gunner

What? I’m still waiting for that sleeping bag!

Those “sytes” were a joke but it got the Interweb gun world all crazy. A pretty good hoax.

Now where is my damn Tauntaun fart sack?

    • Craig Fisher

After a few custom things done to my .45 Hi-Point, ( Under $20 worth that is ) I’ll put it up against ANY handgun made for accuracy and rounds shot before jamming ( Mine won’t ) I’ve owned Glock’s, Smith & Wesson, and a Beretta. You can keep your $600+ handguns, I’ll keep my Hi-Points

    (Derp!)

Seriously? What are the odds of someone needing to shoot sideways thru a narrow port? 1 in a billion? If this was such a widespread problem companies would have offered this solution already.

BTW if you had ‘side sights’ I would imagine you would need a custom holster to accommodate such a monstrosity. Sorry but I think this is a stupid idea (maybe thats why there is a picture of a Hi-Point) but thats just me.

That’s basically what I said, but my comment got “moderated.”

      • Fruitbat44

Agreed . . although Platinum plating might have the edge.

Although I did once come across a blog post featuring another serious contender; a Colt 1903, nickel plated with transparent grips over sepia toned pictures of naked ladies . . . apparently it turned up at a pawn shop and the person pawning it said it had belonged to his uncle, someone the respectable members of the family described as, “A man of low moral character. ” 😉

        • billyoblivion

Man clearly had lots of class.

          And all of it low.

  • Harry’s Holsters

Am I the only one who thinks a stock high point has decent sights? Considering it is a sub $200 gun.

  • Andrey Martim

This is… Not bad at all. A pair of canted sights work on a rifle, why not on a handgun?

I guess they’re trying to cut down on the unintentional injuries in the hood… Maybe with these the homies will actually just hit each other and not some kid down the street..

The scenario provided as justification of this waste of money and effort is as unlikely as needing to install a periscope in the chance one might need to use the weapon submerged to sink ships.
