Not sure who made this. But it is rather cool looking.

Enfield SBR

    What monster did this

    • PK

No idea, but I’m copying that. Mailing off the F1 in duplicate later today, I love it and have plenty of Enfield rifles.

It will be right alongside my 91/30 SBR and K31 SBR. Cut down rifles are incredibly fun toys, especially with multiple stock sets so you can use them as a single hand pistol or a rifle. Give it a try if you get a chance, you might find there’s a reason for these shorties.

      • BattleshipGrey

Would you be willing to show off your K31 SBR?

        • Tyler John Richards

          I second this motion!

  • Otm Shooter

It’s so wrong, in all the right ways….

  • Darkpr0

Never-before-seen Lee Enfield No. 6 Mk I prototype, does double duty as a carbine and a flashbang grenade every time the trigger is pulled.

  • Minuteman

This would fit in a Star Wars movie!

    • tazman66gt

think the jawa pistol that they used on R2D2 was a Lee Enfield

    • tazman66gt

      from imfdb

      • Clint

        Utini!

  • Joe

Rechamber in 54R and suppress it.

    • PK

At that point, it would be easier to make one from a 91/30. I have to tell you, I’d never put a silencer on mine. It would erode any material I could use to make the blast baffle, even 718 Inconel or 17-4PH. Too short of a barrel, too much still-burning powder.

      • noob

Maybe you could make special light load cartridges with minimal powder also? although with too little powder it might get unreliable, unless it was rod-type cordite.

      • iksnilol

Hmm, if you made some sort of wildcat it could work. I am thinking a pseudo .44 mag. As in, you blow out the neck, to make it (relatively) straight, load the heaviest boolit you can, and then some fast burning powder (not too fast to avoid the whole blowing up thingy). I am thinking of course about pistol length barrels when proposing this, 10-20 cm barrel.

Would remove the impressive fireball tho.

    • Grindstone50k

You mean just get an Obrez.

      • Secundius

        @ Gindstone50k.

The Pistol Version Looks GREAT, the Fireball Looks Painful to Shot…

  • iksnilol

I have always wanted a bolt action 7.62×39 with a 25 cm barrel. Never thought about the folding stock til now.

    • ostiariusalpha

      Detachable mag, or stripper clip?

      • iksnilol

        Por que no los dos?

Why not both? Though a lightweight Mauser or something with AK mags would be nice. Extra nice if a stripper clip guide is included. Keep a 20 rounder in it, load with clips while keeping a mag or two spare.

I always wondered why they didn’t cut the stripper clip guide at an angle? So that you could use stripper clips with a centrally mounted scope.

        • ostiariusalpha

Pensé que dirías eso. Not a lot of scope use on those old milsurp rifles, I’m sure if it had been more common than at least a few of them would seen some more creative angles on the clip guides.

          • iksnilol

I mean, it seems like a better solution than those expensive swing mounts that I see occasionally on Mausers and the like.

          • M.S.1

The Finns developed a special clip for the Mosin-Nagants they used in a sniper role- it was curved to clear the scope, yet still fitted into the regular guides.

          • iksnilol

Do you have any pictures of that? Seems very interesting.

          • Secundius

            @ iksnilol.

Try (www. Deviantart. com), they have some interesting “Tricked-Out” Gun Art. Visual Representations usually give people a BETTER Idea of what can be done, than a verbal or Written Description can. At least for me it can…

    • 1 Shot 1 Kill

Try, 303 Enfield ammo. A real wrist breaker shoulder bruiser.

  • Lance

    Looks painful to shoot!

  • tazman66gt

others found wandering around the black hole

    • SP mclaughlin

I think that second one is supposed to be a Jawa blaster.

      • Josh Callejas

Correct, that’s the actual prop photo

        • tazman66gt

actually it looks like this, maybe a flare launcher

  • TVOrZ6dw

Mmm, nice!. Needs the 1000yd sight put back on. You never know when you might need volley fire.

  • lowell houser

That…looks like it would be a surprisingly handy back-packing rifle.

  • MR

    An English Obrez

  • Don Ward

So IraqVeteranEightEightEightEight is going to do a review on this sekrit MI6 Enfield used in BlackOPs operations in the Middle East?

  • Southpaw89

    Cool, and also OUCH!

  • Grindstone50k

    I…
    What…

    Want.

    • Then you should watch The Young Ones! In addition to being a solid sci-fi western, this baby gets lots of screentime.

      • DaveP.

Yeah, Rik Mayall at his best! Besides, what other show ever had Motorhead, Madness, and Echo and the Bunnymen as guests?

  • Pete Sheppard

    Prototype Lee-Enfield Tanker! :p

  • griz

Thank goodness there isn’t an AR adjustable stock on this.

  • Dan

    That is actually pretty cool

  • Kovacs Jeno

    Ohhhhhh…but..I want one…

  • Widgt

    Oh the horror…

  • noob

My god, can you imagine what kind of damage this thing would do at contact range?

    • Zebra Dun

Not to mention melting a contact lens!

  • Brett

These things are just cool. Crazy idea guns are the best.

  • DaveP.

Looks like something Indiana Jones’s nastier brother sling over his shoulder before heading out to explore The Lost City of King Solomon… wonderful adventurer’s gun.

  • HenryV

To do something like that is why I want one of those LSS MDT chassis stock kits……Would be nice in 7.62×39…………

  • Wayne M.

Having owned an SMLE Carbine (very briefly), I’ll bet that thing hurts like heck to shoot.

  • santi

    What a beauty.

  • Fruitbat44

Looks cool. Pretty steam-punk, in a way. But . . . yerk! I wouldn’t really want to shoot it.

  • Ben

These were modified by Aussie soldier/miners during WWI. Their job was to dig under the German lines and set off the biggest non-nuclear kamboom in history. Problem is the Germans had a tenancy to dig into their tunnels hence the need for a very short barrelled weapons. As pistols weren’t available to the ranks, these were made. Check out the movie, “Beneath Hill 60”

  • Zebra Dun

Didn’t I see Jayne carry one of these on the Show Firefly?
    Talk about steampunk pistols!

  • Mog Grat

    Heresy!

  • Donald Darr

.303 already has a kick like a mule. Not quite sure how many times I’d shoot this?!

  • Secundius

The Lee-Enfield SBR Stock Modification, was done by (www. becausewelivehere. com)…

  • iksnilol

That looks simply brilliant! I wonder if can just take a regular straight clip and bend it carefully? I mean, it isn’t rocket science. Or am I being too much of a redneck now?
