Weekend Photo: Chiappa Triple Threat Short Barrel Shotgun

DSC_1087

Dickson sent us a beautiful photo of a damned beautiful gun. He has converted his triple-barreled Chiappa Triple Threat to a Short Barrel Shotgun with 12″ barrels. It is, in essence, a classic Coach Gun on Steroids!

Also pictured is a Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual 2-tone with alligator straps and a Macallan 25 year Scotch. Classy.

Thanks for sharing.

Another Turkish bas uild gun from Akkar Firearms. As far as i know it is kind of populer in Australia too.

  • I like this picture.

  • Yes to everything in that picture!

  • Will

Keep the watch and gun. I’ll take The Macallan.

  • JumpIf NotZero

    Ha, joke gun.

When I finally got to hold one, was almost stunned at just how front heavy it was. Literally useless for anything but pictures on the Internet.

I would have to presume that chopping off a significant amount of steel as was done in the example would go a long ways towards helping that.

    • Grindstone50k

      Literally.

    • Para

So fun doesn’t factor into your purchasing of firearms?

      • ghost

Me either, never had a firearm for fun. I did, ever now and then, go into bars at 3 am hoping to find a woman that was drunk enough to think I looked good.

  • Sianmink

The only proper way to set up a triple-threat IMO. Way too front-heavy with full-length barrels.

  • mosinman

    Zzzzzzzz

  • sam

Three triggers instead of a selecter plz. That way it’ll be more traditional.

    • Rogier Velting

      “Traditional”

      • sam

        I know, I know, it’s a boxlock not a sidelock.

  • Fruitbat44

Cool, yes. Practical, not really . . . but still cool.
And, sorry if this comes across all ‘elf and saf-tee, but I am glad that the gun is depicted as unloaded in the presence of alcohol.

    • Giolli Joker

Well, the bottle is closed anyway. 😉

    • Nashvone

We could say that the bottle is there for a sense of scale.

      • Fruitbat44

Single malt for a sense of scale . . . interesting concept.

Can you obtain more pics? I’ve been thinking about a Triple Threat SBS for quite some time. Hat’s off to the owner, outstanding work!

    • RICH

All you need is a chop saw and submit a form 1 with a $200 check !

  • Southpaw89

    Classy

  • Spencer Craig

    I want one!

  • ghost

All three and head for the woods, away from all the innocents. On second thought, I’d give the Scotch away first.

  • gunsandrockets

This might seem counterintuitive, but I wonder if it is actually easier to regulate the barrels of a three barreled shotgun than a double?
