Bill Geissele Breaks Down the Newly Released AKT

akt2__21863.1433802951.1280.1280

Outside of the humorous introduction (in Bill’s typical dry humor), Bill Gieselle breaks down the newly shipping AKT trigger system. The video includes a full rundown on how the trigger arrives, what comes with it, and a details breakdown of the geometries involved in the system.

I always enjoy hearing from “the man” himself in innovative products. Videos and interviews like this provide some fantastic insight into what problems presented itself in the design of the product and how they went about solving the issue. One of the main issues that Bill looks into is the bevvy of standards around the safety levers to ensure functionality.

Am I the only one who wishes this was maybe a pound heavier? My G2 is about as light as I ever want to go and this looks like it cuts that in half.

Couldn’t you just go with a higher power hammer spring?

I don’t know, you tell me? I’m a novice gunsmith on my best days, if I’m lucky.

I love my ALG Combat Triggers for my ARs. Can’t wait to try out these AK triggers.

I’d love an ALG trigger upgrade for my SIG 556 rifle and SBR… Probably not a big enough market though. 🙁 I love my Giessele SSA and SSA-E triggers for my two ARs.

In short, it’s the AK version of their Super 3-Gun trigger. I’d say this would be better in an AKS-74U or another small caliber rifle. Not so much in the 7.62×51 or 54R.

Still better than the stock trigger for the high caliber AKs?
