POTD: Raceguns 9mm and .22LR

These race guns belong to a friend of mine. The one on the right is 9mm while the other one is in .22LR It is built on a STI frame and Tactical Solutions upper that Limcat customized to look like the Razorcat. I got a chance to try out the .22LR racegun. I was shooting a paper target at 7 yards away. I was pulling the trigger as fast as I could and the gun did not move at all. It amazed me how easy it was. I could see the bullet holes appear on the paper while looking through the optic. It is an amazing gun and I have seen him rock the 9mm at USPSA matches. He is pretty fast.

Robo Cop is gonna be pissed when he finds out his guns were stolen.

Robo Cop’s guns look less hilarious.

Nevermind Robocop, the skater kid down the street is gonna be pissed when he finds out you stole all his grip tape.

ooooo ahhhh…. Nice 🙂 Man, that tricked out STI had to cost a pretty penny.

Yeah they are not cheap. I think they are like $3K+ each

      • Try adding another $2k. A reliable open gun from a custom smith will typically start at $4k with optic. With most averaging close to $5k new.

limited experience with those kind of guns, only shot one in .38super, almost took att the fun out of shooting for me, no recoil, was like shooting a laser beam, almost like it takes way bad habits or atleast makes them not matter, I just fired away and got one ragged hole

    • It is a different kind of fun, that will mostly revolve around the gun games that they are built for.

Uh, you used a race gun at 7 yards!?

That’s like, sorta defeating the point. Do the gun justice and shoot it at 25 meters or something.

Personally I have never been fan of the race guns. Expensive, require more care and impractical for anything that isn’t the competition that it was made for.

We were sightig in the optic. I was just test firing it at what we were shooting at.
