Will sent us this photo of a rifle be built during the great AR-15 shortage of 2013. He wrote …

I pieced this rifle together quite slowly during 2013 because of the scarcity of parts. It consists of:

Noveske gen 2 forged lower with Vltor A5 receiver extension and buffer, Geissele SSA-E trigger, Magpul STR stock, and Magpul MIAD grip.

Vltor MUR-1A upper receiver with BCM bolt carrier group, Noveske 18″ SPR barrel, and Noveske 15″ NSR handguard. The scope is a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10×32 in an ADM Recon mount.

Nice build, especially for one during the shortage. If your rocking 20’s in that SPR im guessing theirs some 10’s lying around.

Great lookin rifle, love those Noveske handguards, been wanting to get one for a while now. Definitely an impressive build during Gunpocalypse 13′, I am probably going to go the same route on my next AR which will be my first complete build.

Do we get to have era names for gun-related times now? I like the Great Drought of ’13.

I’m going to submit my carbine eventually, but I need to edit the for file size.
But it’s not nearly as cool as this, I think. Mine’s much more ‘KISS’.

      KISS carbines are always cool

Exactly. Guys running around wringing their hands and buying up anything that was out there. All I did was sit back and chuckle.

Thankfully it was nowhere near $6K. The scope, mount, stock, grip, NSR, and A5 extension were purchased used. The upper and lower were both blems. Total into that rifle as you see it was just over $3K, including the Nightforce.

Just makin’ fun of the wacky times. Not meant as a slam on you. I was looking for a BCG last year and ended up waiting until ’14 just because no one had them in stock except for the high-dollar exotics (which I’d never buy anyways).
