$64 is a bit steep for a basic sling… Basic Russian sling(or most surplus) can do just as good of a job for 1/3 of the price… or you can get a magpul sling, which will still cost less..

    • M

I no longer trust buying Magpul slings, too many bootlegs floating around.

      • Sam Schifo

Why not just order directly from Magpul’s web site?

        • M

          Rather not pay MSRP

        • Alex

or brownells or midway or the countless of other sites out there that are legit lol

    • waffen ss

hey gang- Larry Vickers=Chris Costa level product premium

      • Nicholas Chen

What is a FN USA SCAR sling?

        • waffen ss

it is a 2 point tactical sling made by Fabrique Nationale d’Herstal(USA) for their SCAR rifle(works on other rifles also)- that is about as descriptive as I can get.

  • David Johnson

SSD announced the actual release a few days back. They sold out the same evening.

Regarding the “sling is too expensive” comment, try a Vickers or VTAC sling and you’ll appreciate the difference in quality and design.

  • Fegelein

Not sure why one would need the fancy expensive Vickers sling. Props to the man, but he has already said that a two-point you can adjust quickly is the best option. Considering the huge number of milsurp slings out there fro the Kalashnikov that do that already for pretty reasonable princes, I think this can go under the bragging rights section of glam gear.

Canvas sling? Even a peasant wouldn’t use that #LeatherSlingMasterRace

In all seriousness, what’s wrong with a 1907 sling or similar?

    • Zachary marrs

Using a 1907 on an ak is like putting a spoiler on a Toyota prius

      • iksnilol

So wanting a stable shooting aid, that can also be used to carry the gun, that doesn’t get in the way or snags on foliage is silly?

I will probably never understand why people hate practicality if it doesn’t fit their sense of “purity” or “correctness”.

        • Zachary marrs

How can you use a 1907 sling correctly on an ak? Let alone attach it

          • iksnilol

There are two attachment points. You follow? You attach two attachment points (more like threaded piece) to the gun, one on the buttstock the other on the handguard.

Note, the sling I use isn’t a 1907 sling. It’s just the closest thing I can come up with in this language. The basics are that it is tied/tightened around and behind your bicep while the other part is kept tight by keeping your hand in the correct position.

            Geez, not that complicated.

          • John

The front sling mount for an ak is way too thin to feed most slings on unless you’re paracording them on there.

          • iksnilol

Yes, because there aren’t thicker sling mounts for AKs.

          • John

I was alluding to mounting a 1907-like sling to an AK. The practicality disappears when the thick sling wont feed onto the ak. Stringing paracord is a long inefficient workaround when there are better options out there.

          • Zachary marrs

You should have clarified that you weren’t talking about a real 1907.

Ak slings mount on the side, directly attached to the barrel, unlike a m1 garand or m14, 1903/1917 etc, so you cant get downward pressure

  • Mr_X

This retails at the same price as their other VCAS slings – but with a few unique bits and bobs here and there in the finishing department. It’s not that bad of a deal really for a US built and hand-stitched piece of gear. If you’ve not spent any serious time behind a VCAS, then you’re missing out. I’d say it’s among the best designs out there and practically bombproof.

  • I was using a Blue Force sling but now that there is a RED FORCE sling I wanted one. Hey it’s my AK that I spent 5 months finishing & refinishing, sanding down the multiple coats of clear semigloss with scarlet Ritdye on the wood stock on so who cares about $64 bucks ya cheap ^&#%^&#%. I called in and snagged one. They had parts to make a couple more so they are doing it. THANKS for posting this info FAB ! 8D
