Dillon RL-550B Progressive Reloader Review

Cool Tools is a very interesting blog for gadget lovers that I have been reading for years. They have posted a review of the Dillon Precision RL-550B Progressive Reloading Press ...

They tell me that a guy can reload 500 rounds an hour with this machine. I have only done about 350 per hour but never broke out into a sweat! The fascinating thing about this reloading press is that once you get started, you drop a loaded round with every pull of the handle. Not 5 pulls and two die changes for every round as before.

I know these are great machines, and while I don’t own one myself, I have a friend that does and he echos the same response as you all do.
However I do have two of the single stage presses and I must say that I really don’t mind the “one at a time” process. I love the time I get to spend at the bench and carefully loading each one.

This is great info. I have had “Get a reloading setup going” on my to-do list forever. I definitely want a no fuss setup to just pull the crank and get rounds out the other end. Sounds like this fits the bill.

I bought a used 550b ten or fifteen years ago, and it is still working like brand new. There are more expensive Dillon setups, but for probably 90% of us, there is no need to look further than this fine machine. I keep mine set up as a dedicated .45 ACP station and I can attest that the finished rounds pile up quickly.

The price that I paid for it is so low that I hesitate to mention it…LOL

I stopped by the Dillon warehouse in Scottsdale, AZ last week, and I am impressed! These are great machines and almost run themselves! I plan on purchasing one soon. Never had the desire to reload before, but these machines are the tops!
