Ruger’s YouTube channel

Unbeknown to me, Ruger has had a Youtube channel since May of this year.

Last week they started a series on the history of firearms. The first episode, about early hand cannons, "aired" last week and is worth watching.

History of the Gun - Part 1: Hand Cannon

Also online are Part 2 and Part 3.

Having pursed near- and far- East Asian studies, I can say that the Song dynasty used explosives to military advantage as early as the 10th century, and projectile weapons in the 12th century – almost two centuries before documentation in Europe.
