With all the focus from Ruger recently being on their new MAX-9 micro-compact 9mm, I was surprised to see just last week the announcement of a new accessory from one of their pistols released in 2020. Ruger just announced the addition of an LCP II 22LR Threaded Barrel Kit for their Lite Rack pistol. Although I never even considered putting a suppressor on my own LCP II Lite Rack, suppressors in general just make everything more fun and enjoyable so perhaps this might be something I pick up.

The Beretta 21A Bobcat has been a long-time favorite of rimfire shooters and Beretta firearm fams alike. This year at SHOT Show they unveiled what many people have been itching for – a threaded barrel version of the 21A Bobcat. Soon you will be able to mount your .22 caliber suppressor to the end of a bobcat for the ultimate compact and covert pistol.

Backup Tactical has spent the last six months perfecting their Glock 48 Threaded Barrel. TFBTV covered the Glock 48 and 43X earlier this year so go check out that video if you’ve been living under a rock. The single-stack Glock 48 is noticeably thinner than its double-stack big-brother, the Glock 19. In order to make the Glock 48 as thin as it is, the hole in the muzzle end of the slide that the barrel goes through has a noticeably smaller diameter than the same hole in the Glock 19.

Usually, when we discuss our friends at Ranger Point Precision the conversation is about some hot new lever gun they are working up. For example, a modified Marlin 336 rechambered in their .36 RPP wildcat cartridge. But today, Ranger Point Precision brings us some modern upgrades for the Steyr Arms A-1 pistols. RPP is now making threaded barrels, compensators and caliber conversion packages.

Faxon has rolled out Glock barrels in both threaded and non-threaded varieties at this year’s NRA Annual Meeting in Atlanta. They will be offered in several colors, in both threaded and unthreaded models for Glock 34, 17,  and 19 at the time of the show with more coming soon.

Ah, what more do you need on a long winter’s night than a crackling fire, a warm drink and a pistol that you can use to fight your way back to your rifle. That saying never seems to get old… however, without starting a full-on blizzard of angry comments, a pistol is an adequate defensive weapon in the majority of first-world scenarios. That’s not to say that I would try and dictate how others decide to protect themselves.

In the latest addition to their #FightTheNoise campaign SilencerCo has expanded their line of threaded barrels. The two new additions are made for the Glock 22 and 23, both of which are .40 S&W pistols. The new barrels join a group of eight pistol barrels currently being offered for the Glock 43, 17, 19, 21, 17L, and 34, SIG Sauer P226, and HK VP9.

At NRA 2014, Glock confirmed that they will be offering factory threaded barrels for Gen 3 firearms later this year. Included models will be the G17, G19, G21, and G23. Interestingly the full-size .40 G22 will not be included. Per the representative present, the G22 will not be included as “.40 does not supress well”. (I agree, as I shoot G22’s). The G23 will get the barrel to make it Canadian-legal.
