[SHOT 2023] Stag Arms PURSUIT Bolt Gun
Added to the recently launched Pursuit line of Stag Arms hunting rifles is the new Pursuit bolt action rifle. At SHOT Show 2023, we had a chance to take a look at the pre-production versions of this rifle. Let’s see what features Stag Arms offers in this new bolt action rifle.
Stag Arms Upgrade The Stag 15 Tactical Rifle Line
It was time for an upgrade – that’s simply why Stag Arms decided to upgrade their Stag 15 Tactical rifle line. The new 2022 Stag-15 Tactical rifles have six new features: Ballistic Advantage Hanson profile barrels, VG6 Delta flash hiders, ambidextrous configurable safeties, Breach ambidextrous charging handles, Hiperfire RBT triggers, and the upgraded rifles come with Magpul Gen3 PMAG magazines. Let’s take a closer look.
The NEW Covenant 6mm ARC Rifles From Stag Arms
It seems that moving to Wyoming was the breath of air that stoked the Stag Arms fire. Two new rifles have joined the company’s lineup of Stag-15 AR-patterned rifles. Both available in left- or right-handed configurations, these are the new Stag-15 Covenant rifles chambered in 6mm ARC.
Stag Arms Announces New .300 Blackout Line, Return of the Varminter
Last year, in June, TFB reported that Stag Arms intended to leave their home base in New Britain, Connecticut, where they had been headquartered since their founding in 2003. Then later in the year, in November, TFB reported that they had chosen Cheyenne, Wyoming as their new home. In conjunction with a concurrent announcement regarding the appointment of Chad Larsen, formerly of Aero Precision, as Stag’s new President, the company looked to be positioning themselves to make some notable efforts to inject some new life into its product offerings. Recently, they have announced two such endeavors: the introduction of a new AR series chambered in .300 Blackout, and the re-introduction of a previous Stag offering, the Varminter.
STAG ARMS Moving To Wyoming Under New Leadership
Although we don’t discuss partisan politics here at TFB, the negative climate surrounding the firearms industry in some of the northeast states does have a ripple effect on consumers. For example, the legal challenges facing Remington and other companies have shown that the firearms industry is just no longer welcome in certain parts of the country. So the news of Stag Arms moving from Connecticut to Wyoming shouldn’t be a big surprise to anyone paying attention.
Stag Arms Plans Exit From Connecticut
Stag Arms have announced their intention to move their headquarters from New Britain, Connecticut. Stag Arms’ Facebook announcement of the plan to move, however, didn’t expressly state that they’re leaving their current state. However, according to a Middletown Press article, New Britain’s mayor stated that Stag Arms had been “courted by other states since Connecticut passed stringent gun control laws following the 2012 mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.”
New PXC-9 Pistol Calibre Carbine From Stag Arms
Good news for pistol calibre carbine lovers, Stag Arms have introduced their new PXC series. Not only does it feed from Glock mags but it also has a last round hold open. The PXC will initially be chambered in 9×19, with other calibres to follow, and is available in various barrel lengths and configurations including a 16” carbine, a 10” pistol or SBR and a 5.5” Pistol.
Stag 10 Rifles: More Information
Back in January, I wrote about the new Stag 10 and 10S rifles that were introduced by Stag Arms. These guns are .308 Win/7.62×51 chambered rifles using the semi-automatic AR-style platform. Since that time, the company released additional information and specifications on the rifles. The following details are the most current information on the guns.
Stag Arms Featureless Rifles | SHOT 2017
Stag Arms is quite famous for the companies left hand ARs, offering variants where other manufacturers tend to not operate in the Southpaw domain, Stag has curved out a niche in the market. This year is no different, with .308 Win rifles and a featureless rifle being added to the line up. The featureless rifle is built using a partnership between Stag and Hera Arms in Germany, working on producing a thumbhole stock with an aluminum insert to prevent holding the stock like an “assault rifle”.
New Rifle: Stag-10 in .308 Win
Stag Arms introduced a number of new products at the recent SHOT Show including a new rifle called the Stag-10. If you were to guess that the Stag-10 is a AR-10 like gun chambered in .308, you would be correct.
