While browsing the Tortuga Trading Inc website I came across this bizarre knife/mini-cannon/pistol weapon. I can’t even figure out how it is supposed to be held. It is such a terrible idea that in comparison it makes the infamous Apache Pistol look ingenious.

It looks like a Mac-10 but is in fact a high powered handheld laser from a company called XADS (Extereme Alternate Defense Systems). It has a max daylight range of 1km and a night range of 2.5 km. The battery lasts 30 minutes. The laser is a 2.5 (min) – 3 watt (max) 532nm green laser.

This video shows helmet camera footage of Dutch Marines boarding a cargo ship. The footage is fantastic.
