Saw this today at the FNH 3Gun Championships. A staffer/competitor modified his Beretta A400 Unico by adding a large button to his bolt release. Most shooters would buy an aftermarket part and have a gunsmith install it. He told me this is cheaper and easier. He drilled and tapped the stock button release. Drilled a hole in the Nickel. The thickness of the nickel allowed for counter sinking the screw.The nickel button was purposefully not centered. By shifting the nickel forward, the shooter has leverage on his side when releasing the bolt. I might try this on my Mossberg 930 JM Pro.

Beretta has a new premium model in their flagship A400 Unico shotgun line, the Beretta A400 Xtreme Unico, which includes an updated hydraulic system called Kick-Off Mega.

I am a tactical gun guy. I am not interested in spending a cold, wet morning in a duck blind, and I have little interest in competition shotgun shooting, although I like shooting clays and I respect the skills of those who are very good at it.

The most nifty gun at SHOT that I did not see must have been the Beretta A400 Xcel, the new competition model in the Beretta A400 line.

This weekend Beretta announced the new “Light” version of the Beretta A400 Xplor. According to Shooting Wire, they shaved 1/3 of a pound off the standard model bringing the weight down to 6.28 lbs.

Disappointingly the dinosaur gun we were all hoping for is not a dinosaur gun after all. Beretta have not yet published anything yet, but from what I have read, their new autoloader shotgun, Xplor UNICO A400, it is a refinement of the Beretta Xtrema 2 and 391.
