Original Precision Reinvents the Moon Clip
Moon clips have been around for over 100 years and reinventing them is a big claim, but Arizona-based Original Precision is doing just that with their CCW HD Moon Clips for J Frame revolvers. Original Precision is offering a CNC machined cylinder conversion to allow .38 and .357 J Frame revolvers to use moon clips to ensure “guaranteed positive ejection for faster reloads under stress”.
Wheelgun Wednesday: The Pros And Cons Of Moon Clips
Revolver moon clips have been in use for over 100 years now, so it’s certainly not a new concept, but they’ve become more common in recent years. While moon clips were originally designed to hold rimless pistol cartridges, namely .45ACP, they’ve been produced for popular rimmed cartridges as well. In today’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll look at the pros and cons of using these simple, affordable, revolver reloading speed boosters.
Wheelgun Wednesday: TFB Review Of The S&W 625 JM .45ACP Revolver
In this edition of TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll be reviewing the Smith & Wesson 625 JM in .45 ACP. Some may question why, in the year 2019, would someone want to shoot .45 ACP through a “six-gun” when you could shoot 7 to 13 of them through a semi-auto? Well, it’s kind of like how people use bicycles even though motorcycles exist… because it’s good for you. Okay, so it may not be the subject of a Men’s Health magazine article, but from a historical, entertaining, or perhaps even a defensive sense, it’s good for you. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the S&W 625 JM for a while, so I was holding back some giddiness when I picked it up from Mr. Guns gun shop and shooting range for the transfer. The S&W 625 JM revolver has its ups and downs, and I’m happy to be able to share my experience with you.
Nighthawk Partners with Korth to Import Revolvers at NRA 2016
Big news for fans of fine wheel guns: Nighthawk Custom has partnered with Korth to bring their legendary revolvers to the US market. Finally, Korths will be imported with the full manufacturing support of a stateside officially sanctioned importer. As part of this agreement, Korth will be importing 3 new models in 6 barrel lengths, branded as Nighthawk firearms with accompanying new model names. Those are:
Revolver. 16 rds. 4.01 secs Fast.
Jerry Miculek is still fast. Like that is a surprise to anyone. But watch the super slo-mo on the reload. Watching Jerry’s steps broken down in slow motion is just awe inspiring. Seeing him let go of the rounds before they even enter the cylinder so he can get his hand back on fire control simply amazes me. He is using a S&W 929 chambered in 9mm. 8 rds on moonclips.
