Drone warfare is here to stay, and around the world, military researchers are figuring out how to arm these small unmanned aerial vehicles. One of the most recent breakthroughs we hear of is from China, where scientists have developed a new recoilless 7.62-caliber cartridge, intended to arm drones.

Photo Of The Day: Anyone with the slightest interest in modern warfare is sure to have seen various types of drones in use, both in passive and active duties. The DroneGun Mk4 shown above reminds me of what the future looks like, yet we’re already here. The DroneGun Mk4 claims to be useful against a variety of drones and can interfere with the control, navigation, and video of numerous models.

DroneShield, manufacturer’s of the DroneGun have announced that their lightened DroneGun Tactical has been certified safe for human exposure. The DroneGun Tactical is an improved anti-drone device which can jam and take control of aerial drones from ranges up to 1 km. DroneShield aim to provide safe countermeasures against a wide range of current drone models. The lightened ‘Tactical’ model was introduced back in February 2018.

With the interest in DroneShield’s drone jammer from various militaries around the world growing, the company’s shoulder-fired jammer, the DroneGun MkII, has been certified safe for human exposure.

World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017 in Davos, Switzerland, was busy and the high-altitude resort was as usual highly protected.

By the year 2020 there are 12 million UAVs and drones expected to be around. Most will be used for fun, but needless to say, some of these will be used for potentially illegal activities and surveillance and possibly terrorism.
