Caldwell Shooting Supplies is now offering an affordable line of bipods that are designed to attach to your rifle’s Picatinny rail. This makes them well suited for a large number of AR style rifles that are on the market today.
Two different versions of the bipod are available. One is smaller with a 6-9″ adjustment range, while the second is larger with a range of 9″-13″. Both models are made with aluminum legs that the company states help keep the overall weight to a minimum. The legs have soft rubber caps, or feet, to help provide stability. The legs are spring loaded and have lock out knobs.
Both models attach to a Picatinny rail using a cam system with a lever. This should provide a very stable mount and offer the ability to remove the unit quickly if it is not needed.
The shorter of the two bipods has a suggested retail price of $44.99. The larger of the two is $5 more expensive.
