SB Tactical, known for giving the ATF a headache and us poor pistol owners a practical “brace”, is at it yet again with their plan to dominate the Modern Sporting Pistol market. This time, SB Tactical has teamed up with Maxim Defense to release an adjustable arm brace modeled on the Maxim Defense CQB Stock.
The Maxim Defense CQB system is a two-rail, three-position MP5 style “stock” for the AR-15. The system features a very quick extension method, where the shooter can overhand cup the stock, depress the button, and yank to the rear for full extension in seconds. (On a personal note, it really is that easy – I have one). Fine adjustment to the two shorter settings can be accomplished by finer adjustment, but it is still quite simple.
The CQB does require a proprietary buffer system, which Maxim Defense covers in style with a custom JP Enterprises Silent Capture System featuring two buffer weights instead of the usual three, which covers the vast majority of shooters out there.
Like all SB Tactical’s arm braces, the SBPDW is fully ATF compliant when used in accordance with the law.
