Federal Premium ammunition announced on their website Monday, March 28th that they will be producing varmint and predator bulk packs under their American Eagle line of ammunition. The American Eagle bulk packs will be shipping out to retailers immediately in sizes of 40- and 50-count. The calibers that are initially being offered are entirely centerfire. The smallest calibers shipping out are .17 and .22 Hornet which are topped off with a Varmint Tip. The other calibers being offered are .223 Rem, .22-250 Rem, .243 Win, and .308 Win which feature a Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP).
Bulk packs like this can be great for shooters because if you don’t reload it adds consistency to your trip afield and its less garbage and packaging to haul out. For those of us who do reload, we can certainly appreciate the Federal brass which is always high quality.
Many people might question why Federal didn’t dabble in any rimfire calibers for this new offering of American Eagle. With Federal’s inability to produce the rimfire they already catalog it makes sense to not add more work to that endless task. This ammunition should be available in stores just in time for summer prairie-doggers and others who gear up for varmint shooting with the nicer weather.
