I’ve recently been digging pretty heavily into survival rifle coverage on my weekly Rimfire Report series. Along with 22LR, a .410 bore is often found being used in survival rifles including the new Rossi survival rifle dubbed the Poly Tuffy. This new single-shot, break-action .410-bore survival rifle features a simple and durable design that stores spare ammo, has a minimally stacked single-action trigger, and of course, breaks down for better storage.

The All-New Single-Shot .410 Bore Rossi Survival Rifle – The Poly Tuffy
Essentials only. When the only thing that matters is getting it done, you can count on the Rossi Survival Rifle. Designed to be lightweight, accurate, and tough as nails, the only thing more durable than the Survival Rifle is a rock. Chambered for 3-inch 410 bore and the potent 45 Colt, the Survival Rifle will take care of small game, fill a pot with meat, or take down dangerous predators with full power 45 Colt. It also complete takes down, fitting inside a backpack or rucksack for easy transportation.
Built on the same tough-as-nails action as the Rossi Brawler pistol, the Survival Rifle is a 16-inch carbine with a hammer-forged barrel that accepts either 45 Colt or up to 3-inch 410 bore shotshells. The single-action trigger is crisp and breaks to the rear with minimal stacking, allowing shooters to place that all-important single shot exactly where they want it.
Additionally, the Survival Rifle features a polymer stock that holds additional ammunition, allowing outdoors enthusiasts to have plenty of extra ammo within reach. The automatic ejectors kick spent hulls and shells free of the gun with authority so that if you do need to reload, you can do it efficiently.
The Poly Tuffy Survival Rifle can be quickly and easily broken down for easy transportation, fitting into smaller spaces for more convenient transportation or stowage. The rifle weighs in at 51.2 oz unloaded, meaning it weighs about as much as a fully loaded handgun. The MSRP is $371 but the rifle will likely find a lower street price as Rossi products often do.
