Medical Skills You Need To Have | Gun Talk Nation

    Length: 31 Minutes

In this hilarious and insightful episode of the Big Tex Ordnance podcast, Chris and Ike sit down with Kurt, Jesse, and Stephen from Blue Alpha Gear at SHOT Show 2024. The Blue Alpha guys discuss the origins of their company, which started with a used sewing machine bought off eBay in 2016. Though now known primarily for their exceptional belts and gear, Blue Alpha initially experimented with making holsters before finding their niche. A common theme throughout is Blue Alpha’s focus on top-notch customer service and adaptable, innovative products to stand out in the firearms accessories market. They share funny behind-the-scenes stories about some of their viral social media content over wild ideas that became beloved products, like their popular thigh straps that originated from dog collars. The conversation spans a wide range from precision .22 rifles to tips on hosting private firearms courses to the perils of the English language, sparked by Stephen’s realization that Kurt hilariously mispronounces “bagel.” With plenty of laughs all around about life in the gun industry and operating a successful small business, it’s clear Kurt, Jesse, and Stephen’s passion for what they do translates seamlessly from Blue Alpha’s wares to its ways. https://www.bluealphabelts.com/

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #112: Bringing Competition to Night Vision Safely with Les from Polaris Logistics

    Length: 35 Minutes

We’re back this week with another episode dedicated to the recent night vision carbine competition Moons Out Goons Out 2024 hosted by Forgotten Weapons. This week I had the opportunity to speak with the overall match director, a fellow competitor, and a good friend of mine – Les Winner of Polaris Logistics. This year Les had to put a lot of extra thought time and effort into each stage design to compensate for the reduced situational awareness, and drastically reduced visibility during the nighttime match. Since no white light was allowed at the match, everything from the movement of each squad, down to the terrain of the Echo Valley Training Center played a role in the creation of a safe match. Today Les and I talk about the gear he used for his own run during the match, some of the struggles with this year’s stages, and how he and the Forgotten Weapons crew are planning on improving the event for next year’s competitors. Please welcome Les Winner of Polaris Logistics back to the show!
