SIG Sauer’s NEW P322 Rimfire Pistol – 20 Rounds of 22LR on Tap!

It has been quite some time since SIG Sauer has brought a rimfire pistol to the market and many customers like myself were still on the search for something that scratched that rimfire pistol itch just right. That is why SIG Sauer is proud and excited to announce the release of their latest project – the P322. The SIG Sauer P322 is a completely new firearm design featuring a 20-round flush fit magazine, optics ready slide, a railed dust cover, and of course a 1/2×28 threaded barrel – all right from the factory. So what’s the nitty-gritty on this new pistol and how much is it going to set you back?

Right off the bat, many of you are going to be asking “where is this pistol made?” The great news is that this pistol is in fact an in-house made design by SIG Sauer right here in the United States – not an outsourced project. The pistol features an aluminum alloy slide with an optics cut, fiber optic front sight, fully adjustable rear sight, and front/rear cocking serrations. In addition to 20-round factory magazines, SIG Sauer is also releasing dedicated 10-round compliant magazines as well as 25-round extended magazines in just a couple of weeks.

The barrel is a 4″ fixed barrel featuring a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle that tucks away neatly underneath the slide when not being used with a suppressor. The P322’s barrel also features a fluted chamber which should aid in reliability for both feeding and extracting a wide variety of ammunition including more affordable bulk ammunition often found at big box stores.

I was fortunate enough to be able to take part in the initial media event for the P322 and as a result, Hop and I were able to get plenty of trigger time behind the P322 in various configurations including with or without optics, and with or without a suppressor attached. In short, the new pistol is shaping up to be one of the hottest releases (at least for rimfire shooters) of 2022.
