With all the focus from Ruger recently being on their new MAX-9 micro-compact 9mm, I was surprised to see just last week the announcement of a new accessory from one of their pistols released in 2020. Ruger just announced the addition of an LCP II 22LR Threaded Barrel Kit for their Lite Rack pistol. Although I never even considered putting a suppressor on my own LCP II Lite Rack, suppressors in general just make everything more fun and enjoyable so perhaps this might be something I pick up.

Ruger Announces LCP II 22LR Threaded Barrel Kit
This Genuine Ruger® Factory Accessory is compatible with Ruger® LCP® II pistols chambered in 22 LR. The threaded barrel accepts any 1/2″-28 (Class 2A) muzzle device. This kit contains a factory-manufactured stainless-steel barrel for optimal fit and function. Barrel changing is quick and easy with no gunsmithing required. Barrel cap, adapter, red recoil spring and 7/16″ wrench included. Made in the USA.
The barrel length has been extended by about half an inch in order to accommodate the threading needed to attach a suppressor. Before this factory option, we had to rely on companies like Tornado Technologies to extend our barrels. Now that the factory threaded barrels are available, you can quickly switch back and forth between the threaded and non-threaded barrels without ruining your original factory one.
The addition of the suppressor to your LCP II 22LR pistol would make it perfectly suitable for backyard plinking without hearing protection and for avoiding annoying your neighbors. If you carry yours like I do mine for quick trips down to the gas station, then you can just pop back in the regular barrel for better concealability. The Ruger LCP II 22LR Threaded Barrel Kit is available for $149.95 and comes complete with the barrel, thread protector, red recoil spring, and a 7/16″ wrench for removing and replacing the thread protector.
