Smith & Wesson Offers M&P15 SBR Through Mil Vet/LEO Program

Smith & Wesson is offering a new SBR to those eligible for their “America’s Guardians” military veteran/LEO/first responder program.

Smith & Wesson has produced ARs for many years now. Their M&P 15 series has expanded to dozens of models, ranging from .22 rimfire plinkers, to standard .223 AR-15s, to large-frame camo-coated .308 versions, and more. Most of their offerings live more on the budget-friendly end of the price range as well, which has helped them become hugely popular with customers. S&W has sold a ton of these rifles over the years. Now they’re adding a new option to the list, offered exclusively to the military veterans, law enforcement personnel and other first responders who qualify for S&W’s “America’s Guardians” program. This newest M&P15 is an SBR, and thus will require a $200 tax stamp from the ATF on top of the purchase price. Davidson’s, who will be distributing many of these mil/LEO program guns to retailers and end users, issued the following announcement about the new item.

This SBR will include mostly standard features, like the issued-style A2 birdcage muzzle device, grip, and stock pictured here.

2 thoughts. EMTs, county judges, prosecutors and firemen are all in this group. Maybe we should defund them all? Joking. Retired military-Army and Air Force and I wore 4 badges spanning 40 years so I guess I qualify 6 times. I have got the $30 veterans rebate 3 times now from SW. Not sure why anybody would trash that program. Glock has the Blue Program but I have never used it.

Vortec has a gimmic called the 40% off for the same people. It is a gimmic, 40% off MSRP which is exactly the same as the street price of the exact scopes at Bass Pro, Cabelas, and all major outlets. The SW is a true break and the Glock program is a real discount. Even better Cabelas and Bass Pro give a real 5% off. So these are mostly marketing gimmics.

Second, why would you care if some vet or ambulance driver gets first shot at some new product. I have ARS I put together as pistols with 10.5 barrels and the same gun as a 16 inch carbine. No a big difference.

So who really cares? If you do not like them do not buy them and do not complain about those why qualify. They will sell them to everyone down the road anyway.

    Those are just marketing bigmmis
