Continuing to expand their competition shooting-oriented product line, TACCOM has recently released a new AR-15 stock called Cheek Riser Adjustable Buttstock. Despite the minimalistic design, this stock has a high level of adjustability that includes a length of pull, cheekpiece height, buttplate height and cant adjustments. Let’s take a closer look.
The TACCOM Cheek Riser Adjustable Buttstock is available in two versions called AR15 and M&P variations. The M&P variation was initially designed for Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rimfire rifles, however, it is compatible with any mil-spec AR-15 buffer tube. The AR15 variation comes with its own round buffer tube and compared to the other model, provides more adjustment options as the buttstock assembly can be rotated around the buffer tube. As described by the manufacturer, this feature will allow changing where the center line of the rifle can be in relation to your body.
The components of TACCOM Cheek Riser Adjustable Buttstock are made of aluminum and Delrin. The single side screw is used for both clamping the stock to the buffer tube and fixing the position of the cheek riser and buttplate shaft. The length of pull adjustment range for both models is 10.5″ to 15″. The overall weights of AR15 and M&P variation stocks are 11 oz and 6 oz respectively. The general design of this buttstock is symmetrical and the cheek riser can be installed on either side making this stock useable for both right- and left-handed shooters.
Tell us in the comments section in what applications (besides competition shooting) do you think such a high level of stock adjustability could come in handy.
