TacticalWalls MODWall – Installing and First Impressions

TacticalWalls has been making high-quality mirror wall covers and firearm contains for years now. They recently have started creating modular wall mounting systems to display firearms in your home. I was intrigued so I decided to order one and give it a try. There have been more and more companies in the last decade who have started making firearm wall mounts due to increased demand from the gun community.

What The Patriot Package Comes With

I ordered TacticallWalls starter pack called the Patriot Package. The Patriot Package comes with two 22″X48″ sections that join together. Each individual section is set up for multiple mounting points which is really nice. The Patriot Package also comes with a plate carrier hanger, helmet mount. two rifle mounts, two pistol mounts, and two extremely strong magnets. Honestly, the starter pack has a good mix of what TacticalWalls has to offer for their line up of wall mounts for various items. The attachments are really simple to put together and the directions that come with the package are pretty entertaining as well. They definitely don’t take themselves too seriously which is worth a good laugh or two. I assembled everything in about 45 minutes and mounted the wall pieces as well.

Mounting everything was rather simple since it’s already predrilled from the factory. Having a stud finder made it go by much faster and the holes are already predrilled for 16 inches apart for the standard stud distance. I put all the screws in and my MODWall was ready!

My First Impressions of The MODWall

Honestly, I think the MODWall is a great product for people who want options to customize their set up. I really like how equipment and guns can be adjusted on the wall without installing a large metal mount. I can see where this would be a great option for someone who rents an apartment but wants to be able to hang things in a closet or spare room. The whole system is lightweight and easy to take down if you ever decide to move. When I finished installing everything, I was really happy to see how sturdy the MODWall was with weight.

I was concerned initially that it would flex under a lot of weight. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case and the plastic sections are extremely sturdy. I plan on ordering a few more attachments to fill the wall up but overall I’m very happy with the wall mount so far. I plan on testing the MODWall over time and doing a full write up down the road. Let me know what you guys think about the idea of mounting and storing firearms on a wall mount.
