OK, so this isn’t about concealed carrying a straw. I just thought that photo was hilarious and so I used it. What is serious is trying to legally conceal carry in California. For those who do not know, California is a may-issue state. You have to jump through silly hoops required by your county Sheriff’s office and you have to explain why you want/need to conceal carry. They don’t like your reasoning? No concealed carry license for you. Well, now you can legally conceal carry in California without a CCW license with this one weird trick.

A Video about California Penal Code 25640, A little Known Law that permits Licensed Fisherman to Carry a Concealed Weapon without a permit while engaged in, or on their way to engage in Fishing! (No Standing around, No Stopping at stores, direct routes etc..) Im not a Lawyer obviously… Read through the Penal Codes yourself, or even run it by Local Law enforcement beforehand! Keep it Unloaded When Traveling, and If your fishing spot is within City Limits.

Another Penal Code not Mentioned in the Video has to do with loaded firearms in Public *** Penal Code 25850 https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/fa…

So what is the magical loophole? Penal Code 25640.

Section 25400 does not apply to, or affect, licensed hunters or fishermen carrying pistols, revolvers, or other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person while engaged in hunting or fishing, or transporting those firearms unloaded when going to or returning from the hunting or fishing expedition.

IDPA shooting vests make so much more sense now. I wonder if you can get a Gat Fishing license?

Well hello there fellow fishing enthusiasts!!

So if you have a valid hunting license or fishing license you can legally conceal carry in California while hunting or fishing. However, there are some stipulations to this loophole. You can ONLY conceal carry while hunting or fishing. Transporting to said activity or returning from said activity the firearm must be unloaded. Another important nugget is to know the restrictions of the area you are engaging in said activity. If the fishing spot prohibits firearms then you can’t have one on you, technically. So do your research before you go hunting or fishing and decide to carry concealed.

While this is not a perfect loophole, it is a way to stay on the legal side of the law and exercise your second amendment rights in California. Yes, we all know the usual retort for those who left or don’t live in California. “Just move to another state.” That is not realistic for many and you are not helping those stuck in CA. I appreciate Biosauce for sharing this information on his YouTube channel. He presented the information clearly and succinctly. Hopefully, those of you who still live in California find this information useful as I did.
