For those who may not be up to speed with the progression of Springfield Armory’s quality within their SAINT series of AR-15s, the newest SAINT Victor iteration should provide you with a rifle that has familiar handling with many intangibles you may not notice. Springfield is not a company to rest on their laurels so while the original SAINT was received well within the firearms community the SAINT Victor ups the ante. The newest AR that was proudly on display at the NRA Annual Meetings in Indianapolis this past weekend was the SAINT Victor 308! The first .308 Winchester chambered AR produced by Springfield Armory.

While the Springfield Armory SAINT Victor 308 was actually announced a few days before the start of the NRA Show, once the doors opened it was the 1st time for many people to see the newly unveiled rifle in person. Like many of Springfield’s firearms, it has a laundry list of desirable components and features. Those can be read below as presented by Springfield Armory:

    • 16″ Lightweight Profile, CMV Melonite® Finish Internal & External Barrel w/ 1:10” Twist

This rifle has a varietal buffet of attributes that would entice someone to add it to their arsenal, but perhaps the greatest characteristic is its weight (or lack thereof). This full size AR weighs in at only 7 pounds 11 ounces; under 8 pounds total. It also comes with (1) 20-Round Magpul Gen M3 magazine to keep you amply supplied with ammo. As always, this rifle is covered under Springfield’s Limited Warranty in the rare event an issue should arise. With all of the elements enveloping this rifle, you are looking at an MSRP of $1,399.

My personal impressions of the Springfield Armory SAINT Victor 308 while handling it for the first time at the NRA Show were positive. I liked the smooth free-float M-LOK handguard which gives you lots of real estate to control and manipulate the weapon. It is indeed surprsingly light for an AR-10, and all of the other pieces that comprise the rifle were crisp, clean, and looked aesthetically great. It is hard to dislike a smooth handling and well-planned rifle like this.

My opinion is only one quiet voice though. A better question is what do you, our readers, think of the NEW Springfield Armory SAINT Victor 308? Is this something you would be willing to jump on at the opening price-point of $1,399? Let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
