POTD: Steen Defense 7.5” SD1 300 BLK with Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP60
A few exclusive images for TFB’s Photo Of The Day of a prototype of the new and upcoming Steen Defense 7.5” SD1 300 Blackout, made in Sweden. Here it’s been matched with the latest in thermal imaging riflescopes, the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP60 in a Spuhr QD mount. The carbine is suppressed by Ase Utra from Finland.
The SD1-Multicaliber is Steen Defense’s purpose-built tactical rifle chambered in .300 AAC Blackout, primarily engineered for close-quarters missions and optimized for suppressed fire. It delivers outstanding performance with both supersonic and subsonic loads, without the need to change any settings.
The carbine is also compatible with specialized armor-piercing sabot rounds, capable of penetrating armor up to 1 inch thick. However, in this case, the setup is more for wild boar hunting (although the ammunition pictured is supersonic, not intended for hunting, but you take what you’ve got once you have the camera out).
I have shot this particular prototype setup with a normal day optic recently, and it’s an amazing rifle. We will be back with more information about the carbine and the company in the near future.
Please tell us if you notice any special features with this Steen Defense. It’s a Direct Impingement system, so you know. We’ll be checking the comments section.
