The 6.5 Creedmoor is the caliber of the day and Steyr Arms advocates have been lusting for a rifle chambered in it for a long time. They now have their wish granted with the Steyr Arms Pro THB (Tactical Heavy Barrel) in 6.5 Creedmoor.
This rifle has a reinforced polymer stock to ensure rigidity; thus, the barrel always remains free-floated. It also has the tried and true Steyr Arms 2-Stage magazine system as an additional safety when unloading the rifle. The magazine itself will hold 4 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor with an additional one in the chamber affording the shooter 5 rounds at a time. The Pro THB also has Steyr Arms’ 3-Position SBS (Safe-Bolt System) Safety.
The Pro THB 6.5 Creedmoor also uses a vented forearm stock for curb appeal and to reduce weight. To make the addition of optics easier it is outfitted with a factory 20 M.O.A. (Minute of Angle) Rail.
The consumer gets to heat up a 26″ Cold-Hammer Forged, Threaded barrel which should yield great accuracy. It comes with the typical thread pitch of 5/8″x24 TPI. Like many Steyr Arms rifles, this model is finished in their Mannox coating.
The stock also has an adjustable Length-of-Pull to fit a wide array of potential shooters. The Pro THB 6.5 Creedmoor also has a clean 2.6 Lbs trigger pull right out of the box. After dry-firing the rifle personally, that is a very impressive trigger in a factory rifle.
The men and women I spoke with at SHOT Show about this rifle from Steyr Arms all exuded similar sentiments when describing and talking about this rifle… They are EXTREMELY excited!
The day I stopped by their booth they just had it shipped in that morning. They had not had it on display for a full 24 hours yet. At that time, since it was so truly new, they did not have an openly marketed MSRP for us to present to you. I would expect that to become public knowledge very soon now that SHOT Show 2018 has come to a conclusion.
