[SHOT 2018] Super Suppressed Scorpion From Innovative Arms

Innovative Arms has been making quality, affordable silencers for several years with a focus on integrally suppressed upgrades for customer’s guns. One of their most popular builds, a ported, shrouded Smith & Wesson M&P 15, is definitely a crowd pleaser, silently slinging copper washed lead to the tune of the cycling of the action. Improving an already solid system, the Elgin, South Carolina based crew is giving the true integral silenced platform an upgrade.

Instead of a removable monocore design, the new M&P15 will feature a permanently affixed monocore with a barrel shroud held in place with a thread protector. To defeat carbon buildup, the Innovative Arms team developed a carbon scraper at the point where the barrel meets the monocore. The tube can be worked back and forth over the scraper to remove any fouling. Yes, for those silencer nerds asking, instead of using a thread protector, you can spin on a second silencer. However, any further sound reduction is minimal. MSRP is set for ~$799 on a customer supplied gun.

The end result is an awesome looking pistol caliber carbine that is probably a lot of fun. The package will be available to build on a customer supplied gun in month or two. Although not finalized, the MSRP should fall somewhere between $800 and $1000.
