New Assault Rifles from EMTAN: MZ-47, MZ-4P and MZ-300

    EMTAN MZ-47

EMTAN KARMIEL Ltd announced the introduction of three new assault rifles that will be shown at the Defense & Security Thailand 2017 exposition in Bangkok. The new rifles are the MZ-47, the MZ-4P and the MZ-300.

    MZ-47

The MZ-47 is an M16/M4-style rifle chambered for the 7.62×39 cartridge that is more frequently associated with the AK platform. This select fire weapon has a rate of fire of 650-850 RPM. A semi-automatic only version of the gun will also be introduced.

Two barrel lengths will be offered: 11.5″ and 14.5″. The bores will be hard chrome lined with a 1:9.45″ twist. The EMTAN MZ-47 will run on AK pattern magazines.

M4-style rifles may be common, but relatively few are piston driven systems. The new MZ-4P is just such a gun. Technical details on the system have not yet been released, but I would expect to see more next week once the guns are shown in public. The system is said to be very friendly for running a suppressor and is easy to clean in the field.

This rifle is chambered for the 5.56 NATO cartridge and uses standard M16/M4 magazines. Two barrel length options will be available: 11.5″ and 14.5″. There is no immediate word regarding the possible manufacture of a semi-automatic only variant.

As one might guess from the name, this is a rifle chambered for the 300 BLK cartridge. It is a full auto DI gun with barrel length options from 9″ to 14.5″. It is, of course, designed for use with suppressors.

EMTAN KARMIEL is a weapon and parts manufacturer located in Israel. The company was established in the 1970s and is an ongoing supplier to the IDF, IMI and others.
