TFB TV Glock 18 Machine Pistol Mini-Documentary

In this episode of TFBTV, James is at GLOCK USA in Smyrna, GA to shoot the Glock Operator’s Course…and run the Glock 18c ragged. James interviews Chris Edwards, Glock USA’s rangemaster, and gets hands-on instruction on the proper use of the Glock 18 from Glock’s extremely talented roster of training professionals. Finally, Chris Bartocci of Small Arms Solutions goes over some more subtle differences between the Glock 17 and the Glock 18. Check out this very exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of the most elusive and rare machine pistols in the world.

Id give my left nut for one of these.

Keep in mind I already lost my right one.

  • Kelly Jackson

I was just watching Skyfall again the other night and it always reminds me how much I love this gun.

Absolutely no need for it, a full auto EVO would probably be more practical, but much like the Mp5 I jut want one.

    • The best G18 usage in film imo is The Gunman with Sean Penn.

He needs a throwaway piece when in Spain, and his local contact hook him up with the G18 and 5 mags. He uses it pretty extensively through the rest of the movie.

      • Nashvone

Sean Penn? The guy that gave all his guns to an artist to turn into a sculpture because guns are “cowardly killing machines”? Nice reference.

        • Edeco

Then I think his lady at the time who he was trying to impress dumped him anyway. That guy is a trip; frightningly violent if decades of allegations are to be believed, also had a gun stolen from a car. Perfect candidate to not be a gun owner, last person who should make the call for anyone else.

He was really cool as Mickey in Bad Boys though. Overwrought plot, prolly cobbled together around the setting, but Penn held up his end.

        • I guess dudes an even better actor then I thought – he really seemed to be enjoying himself in The Gunman, and it’s an awesome movie.

Personally I don’t care of an actor eats children and worships a snake god so long as their acting is good.

  • Walter E. Kurtz

DELIGHTED—-absolutely DELIGHTED— to see Chris Bartocci featured on TFBTV. He is truly a subject matter expert on all things firearms related especially modern small arms. With the exception of Eugene Stoner and maybe Reed Knight, few know the AR-15’s history and operation better than Chris. He is a god among gun gurus. Find a way to get him on TFBTV more often. Meantime, lay off the Glock worship for awhile…but no need to go back to 1911s….the horror….the horror….

  • TheNotoriousIUD

If I could have only one gun that would be it.

  • Edeco

Too stubby tho, they should do a G18L

    • iksnilol

Nah, they need to do a G18 in G26 size. POCKET MACHINEGUN, BABY!

      • DW

I like how you think. But how about a fun switch on a G29?

        • iksnilol

I guess, but I’d rather have .460 rowland over 10mm.

        • Rex Barton

          Fun switch on a G29!!. . . you rang!. . . I’m ready with mine!!

      • Edeco

That too. Also I’d like to see a Shield size thing with double stack of 32, or like twelve 22 lr’s and full auto

      • Before YouTube, there used to be a guy on the net named “Sickboy” who had a G19 and G26 professionally converted with a G18-style sector switch. The full-auto G26 looked like someone had just tossed a handful of spent cases in the air.

I tried to track down the guy’s site via the Internet Archive, but the videos were in an ancient Apple QuickTime format.

  • PK
    • haha Well *I* love that you followed up

If you do Instagram, we tease upcoming releases, reviews and gay-cations often.

      • PK

Hey look, a reason to make an Instagram account after years of being “meh” on the subject!

  • Joel

    Nice vid. Thanks.
Did you guys get to try it with -P ammo, like lower power factor USPSA match ammo? That would have been cool.

    • Yeah, we did, and it would jam up. It needs the hotter stuff. Even the Fiocchi we were running through it was a little on the weak side. Watch the ejection on the slow motion videos – it seems like the casings barely clear the ejection port.

      • Joel

Sounds like a lot of ground was covered. Thanks for the reply.

      • SP mclaughlin

I feel like it would be more practical for the G18 to fire at a slower rate.

        • It definitely slows it down…

        • PK

Throw a silencer with a LID on it. It goes much slower, and it ends up being substantially more controllable and pleasant.

  • Pete – TFB Writer

I’d like retro videographer credit for the slowmo JJ video. I did hold the camera after all. How about a exec producer TFBTV credit?

    • Look at any of the footage of me. If any of it is in focus, then I’ll consider you for something higher than ‘best boy.’

      • Other than the fantastically shot slow motion footage. That was 100%

      • Pete – TFB Writer

Yikes, was it that bad? I’ll stick to my iPhone snaps and fanboy posts.

      • Nashvone

From Exec Prod to department assistant? You don’t much care for Pete do you?

  • Audie Bakerson

Have you demanded your congressman and senators introduce NFA repeal yet?

  • wicapiwakan

please set all james videos to shawn michaels’ theme.

  • noob

what would a glock 18C in 22TCM9r be like?

    • Giolli Joker

You can find it in youtube as a full auto Glock 17 converted by MWS.

      • noob

    • I always wished FN would make a FA/3rd burst version of the Five Seven.

      • noob

Had they done that during the 90s as the standard FiveSeven, they would have eaten HK’s lunch and we might have had a standard NATO pdw caliber.

  • noob

also does center axis relock stance work better with a long magazine that you can hand-and-a-half grab?

  • noob

burst control at 1000rpm is an amazing feat. sounds like a binary trigger for glock is something that could have a big market.

  • KestrelBike

Ok. Be honest. Who else felt a little “aww shucks” when he talked about the steps they took to make sure the G18 & 17 components are not interchangeable?

    • noob

also that means that the original rationale of testing components is defeated.

  • 3 Of 11

    I’ll take two, please.

  • Cyborg Fred
  • Mel Kimlinger

    Good video!

Too bad that someone couldn’t have asked the people behind the cameraman to quiet down a bit (2:20 in the video). Couldn’t hear what the Glock guy was saying very well.

Then again, if I had an opportunity to participate in one of the training classes and demonstrations, I’d be laughing and excited, too!

  • Federalist

    3:40 – Glock instructor advocates CAR-style half-gangster grip for one-handed firing of full-auto pistol 😀

  • RickOAA .

    Meh. Glock.
