Smith & Wesson M&P22 Full Size .22 lr Pistol

When the Smith & Wesson M&P22 was rolled out in 2011 many shooters rejoiced that there was a new full size .22 on the market that closely resembled a centerfire handgun. At the time of its introduction, the number of choices in that segment was rather limited.

In this episode of TFBTV, Patrick pulls the heavily used M&P22 out of the safe and takes it to the range. While it is a great firearm, the number of rounds that have been fired in this example have worn it out a bit making it very ammo sensitive. The M&P22 also features ambi controls and a reversible mag catch to round out a very lefty friendly pistol. When you couple all of that with a 12 round magazine and a thread adapter that allows the attachment of a suppressor, you have a winning combo!

I liked my full size for a short period of time. I just wish they would have had it set up to change the back straps like the full size. The compact version of this is a great little .22.

Yup, seems like the choicest materials. The muzzle thing is a PITB and I wish the clips held more shots.

Is it anywhere close to the 2.0, or do they make a 2.0 version? I’m looking at the M&P for the first time now that the 2.0s have come out. And this would be a great little add on buy for my wife and little one..

I would recommend you look at Buckmark or Ruger Mark 4 instead. The M&P22 isn’t really built to stand the test of time.

I have one and it shoots absurdly high, like 2-4 inches at 7 yards. I always have to hold low no matter the ammo. I adjusted the sights as far as they would go. Oherwise, the groups are fairly small

I seem to remember that Umerex once made a M&P .22 pistol for S&W .Is this still the case and is this the one ?

Worn out? Clean the damn thing.

Mine has about 500 rounds through it and I think it is worn out. Half of those were suppressed so that may have something to do with it, but it definitely isn’t holding up well.
