The Fortis AR15 LA Stock Hits Shelves – Sells Out In Hours

Fortis Manufacturing has just released their light weight collapsible AR15 stock in a limited sale that sold out in just a few hours. The LA Stock features a carbon fiber cheek piece and unique styling for a precision cut look. I really like it.

However, the $400 pricetag for an LA Stock will probably prevent me from picking one up for myself. In the current AR market, complete rifles are going or around the same price, making it hard to justify. Still, if you are interested, fear not. 1) Fortis makes quality gear. 2) More stocks are on their way to dealers and distributors as we speak.

Fortis LA Stock Description:

When designing our newest line to our Fortis family of products, we spent a lot of time thinking about the overall design and function of our butt stock. Lightweight? Of course. We helped start the change in the industry with our lightweight designs – but we also like our products to be robust and withstand the abuse we throw at it. Form as well as function each and every product we introduce – that’s Fortis.

Introducing our newest part – our aluminum buttstock, the Fortis LA™. It’s an all aluminum Lever Action (LA) stock that utilizes mil-spec buffer tubes. That’s right – slip off the plastic stock and upgrade your rifle immediately. The lever action is what clamps down onto the buffer tube so there’s no rattle or movement and our patent pending design is one of a kind.

  • Patent Pending Lever Action design clamps down onto standard milspec buffer tube. This eliminates any rattle or movement
  • Real Carbon Fiber cheek piece
  • Slim design, strength by design
  • 3 QD sockets for various needs
  • Easily removes off the buffer tube with no additional tools needed
  • Material: Aircraft Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum
  • Finish: Military Specification Type III Hard Coat Anodized
  • Fits standard milspec buffer tubes (recommend purchasing our bundle)
  • Weight – 15.8oz!
  • MSRP: $395

15 ounces? That’s a little too heavy for my tastes. I’m loving my MFT BMS at under 6 ounces. Sure, it’s made of plastc, and only has 1 QD attachment point, but there is no rattle, tight lock up, comfortable and it doesn’t pull at my beard.

    • Juggernaut

for $40/incl delivery the MFT can’t be beat

      • Jai S.

Well, 1/10th of the price for the BMS stock without the weight deal breaker of the Fortis makes it sound even more crazy.

I bet if feels nice, but light is right!

  • USMC03Vet

Boutique AR stocks. Still gonna wait for the gold 24k inlet version myself.

    • GaryOlson

I’m waiting for the version with a 64 oz cup holder. Operating is thirsty work.

  • Anonymoose

So it’s like an aluminum version of the Rogers Super-Stoc, with carbon fiber-printed kydex on the cheekpad (real carbon fiber is more fragile, can stab you in the face, and is more expensive).

    • Christopher Wallace

      did i get banned again?

      ETA guess not

      • Twilight sparkle

Did you try to post a link or something?

    • Tallguy65

      It IS real carbon fiber.

      • Anonymoose

Really? The Battle Arms Vert stock is just kydex made to look like carbon fiber. I thought there was some connection between the two companies too.

    • supergun

      That is funny.

  • Vitsaus

    How many were made/sold?

    • catfish252

12, but they sold out in under 2 hours

      • Phillip Cooper

They must be using Apple’s marketing team.

        • catfish252

At least for the pricing, I heard the iPhone 8 might cost as much as $1000

          • itsmefool

            Yeah but it apps!!!

      • 2012Viking

Did they make that many? There were 12 suckers willing to pay 400, wow.

  • Agent Orange

Fear not! An Airsoft copy will be available for sub-$100 lol.

  • john huscio

I’ll stick with my b5 sopmod

    • supergun

Is that the Bravo stock? I ran across a Kryptek Bravo stock at about $20 a few months ago. What is sopped? Where can I get a Kryptek Bravo Stock?

  • parker

i believe that my daniel defense ($59) looks better and would be more comfortable for shooting. also, that pistol grip is hideous. it appears that these products are for people wanting “the look” rather than function. like the people that pay ridiculous amounts for sneakers. i guess the bragging rights are all that matters to them. glad i’m not one of them.

  • catfish252

It is a very good looking stock, but I wouldn’t pay over $150 for it

  • TDog

Pretty cool looking. Can’t say it’s my cup of tea, but having multiple choices is the stuff of life!

  • Raginzerker

Cool, more mall ninja stuff for the ar

  • lolwat

Yet you won’t see a single military or police unit in the world using them. Hipsters strike again.

  • st381183

At $395 that stock better arrive with 4 morally casual hookers to help me install it on my AR over the course of a long weekend. I predict sub $100 for Black Friday sale.

    • Those would have to be some low end hookers.

      • ShootingFromTheHip

Ooh la ti da Mister I-only-do-pretty-and-clean-hookers!

        • Do you want a STD? Because that is how to get all the STDs.

          • The_manBEar

HA this is the best thing going on this website right now

          • Laserbait

I hear you win a prize if you collect the whole set of STDs!

          • supergun

How much does a case of a thousand cost?

          • supergun

Can you get them in 308s?

          • No, but AIDS comes in 50BMG.

          • supergun

            You talking about welfare?

        • supergun

          Will they clean ARs good?

      • supergun

        Preferably Kryptek.

    • supergun

If that much, and still with the hookers.

  • Brett baker

I bought my del-ton last summer for $110 more. A complete carbine nib. A sub $75 magpul or bcm might go on it, but probably not. I suppose if you bust skulls the fortis is worth it , but I don’t do cqb.

  • When did almost a 1lb become a light weight stock?

The Magpul CTR is 8.8oz. A UBR 2.0 (which I consider on the heavy end for stocks) would weigh about the same (once you include RE, castle nut, et al).

    • Sam Green

I totally concur 15.8 oz is not lightweight.

I have a couple ultra-light AR’s in 6.8 and 5.56 with a slew of V7 and 2A ultra-light titanium and carbon fiber components, I think the heaviest stock on one of these rifles is 6.8oz, sans the buffer and spring.

This stock, while it has some interesting aspects, is not even close to being called lightweight. The price-point is stuck on stupid. I don’t mind spending money on top shelf items, both my ultralight AR’s easily have $2500 in parts in each one, but this price point for what it is, simply does not seem rational I’m actually shocked they sold out.

      • Independent George

That’s got to be a misprint, right? Unless it’s got steel liners in there somewhere, or they’re including the tube & H3 buffers, I don’t see how it could possibly get up to 15.8 ounces.

5.8 would actually be light – it is also the advertised weight of the MFT minimalist stock (but 6.0 oz according to my kitchen scale).

  • neoritter

I don’t get it, why is it $400?

    • supergun

I thought they were talking about the gun at first. Then I saw $400. Then I saw my mistake. The article was about the stock. Now that thing looks good, but $400. I see hearts broken on this.

  • Uniform223

Though it is aesthetically nice to look at, I’ll keep my ACE socom stick.

  • A.WChuck

    “Fortis, Fortis-one, whatever it takes…”

  • Raptor Fred
  • Rogertc1

$ 400. price tag. I can get a base Ruger AR 556 complete for $20. less than that price.

  • supergun

That is cool that we can click the link and go right to that. Thanks. I am looking to put a different stock on my Smith and Wesson AR 10 that will be arriving in a few days. What stock should I put on it. A Hogue, a DD, a Magpul, or my favorite which is out of stock, the Kryptek Bravo Stock.

  • pablo4twenty

    Nice, but not $400 nice.
