Serbu Firearms With 50 Cal Val and Royal Nonesuch | SHOT 2017

Patrick visits with 50 Cal Val and Royal Nonesuch to talk about the RN-50 rifle, the GB-22 pistol, and a prototype pistol that might be in development. Plans are currently available for the GB-22 pistol for $12 and complete pistols MAY be coming in the future.

Is serbu a good name? Ive heard of Mark before but usually in the context of gun smithing

    • chris lynch

      can’t tell if srs

I am serious I dont know anything about them. Their stuff looks pretty ordinary. Not much finish. Probably well made just look like a bunch of home made stuff.

You’re seeing the back to the basics stuff mark has been up to lately. It’s unfortunate that he’s throwing away his reputation like this

I went to his site and a few of his guns look very well done. They dont look like they were made in a garage. I know that all his products arent and are probably very well made but quite a few just lack finish and style. Hes making some good looking AR uppers and semi auto 50 cal which looked pretty good.

Again was he big at one time? Ive only heard of him as a gun smith.

He has minor fame for the serbu super shorty

          • annan

Correct. The serbu super shorty (shotgun) was the greatest advance in shotguns since the sawn off shotgun. It’s basically a shortened pump action shotgun, which has been done before but not to that degree. He should imo continue to iterate that design along with variants, as not only is it a great legal gun for home defense (one handed shotgun pistol for the win) but it also has brand name recognition.
            Some ideas:
            – A fancy upscale version for rich/fancy people (use of wood and bluing)
            – A version with a club grip, this would probably increase ease of pointshooting and increase shootability by decreasing felt recoil. (as the gun recoils back into the hand and loose grip, not twisting the wrist) It also would look cooler.
            – A vertical or horizontal dual barrel version (two serbu super shorties welded together), doubling shell capacity and the weight helping with recoil.
            – A girly serbu, I’m thinking one that’s modeled after the looks of a cheerleader spirit stick

          • Nicks87

…for fancy people. That was cruel but fair.

I like the 12GA repeater: “in a world where man has lost the knowledge to manufacture springs…”

  • RavishedBoy

    MSRP is 11 – 12 bucks, but i think street price will be 10 – 10.50.

“Room clearing” with a .50 BMG single shot? REALLY?

So is this what Serbu is up to instead of manufacturing his SU-15 uppers people are waiting for and have money on deposit?

  • Twilight sparkle

Am I the only person that finds this cringy?
Also aren’t open bolt designs basically banned now?

    • Edeco

My understanding is it’s ok without a magazine. Not a lawyer or making them myself tho.

50 Cal Val resembles Emily Deschanel in her younger days.

  • mazkact

Me thinks The Slamfire Repeatanator 2000 should have stayed in Royal’s garage.

  • Nick

Am I the only one who can’t stand Royal Nonesuch? Also that GB-22 makes a Hi-Point look elegant.

He is a hack. It’s only a matter of time till he is missing some didgets.
