[SHOT 17] Defiance DMK-22 Got A Release Date And A New Look!

At last year’s SHOT Show, we gave you a peek at the upcoming Defiance DMK-22 rifle and hinted at a release date as well as a pretty interesting feature. Well now that they have come out and said it in the below press release, the DMK-22 will accept MOST Ruger 10/22 barrels as well as MOST .22 lr AR-15 mags.

While I wasn’t able to shoot the prototype last year, I plan to get my hands on one at Range Day this go around to see what my initial impressions are. I imagine that the gun will feel very much like any of my AR-15s with the exception of a slightly quieter report and reduced recoil. If they are able to produce a solid, reliable AR-15 chambered in .22 lr I am likely going to have to get one. Ammo get expensive after all, especially when you shoot as much as I do I.

While the MSRP is a bit higher than they originally anticipated, $699 seems to be right about what you would expect for a solid AR-15 no matter the caliber. You can learn more about Kriss USA on their website HERE.

    So its a rich man’s M&P 15-22?

    • Patrick R. – Senior Writer

It is supposed to take 10/22 barrels and be made to the same dimensions as a center fire gun. If I can configure it the way I want to, it maybe a winner.

  • El Duderino

    Neat. A $700 .22 to go with the $50 bricks of 500.

  • Aono

Pics of the bolt if you get a chance please.

  • John Bear Ross

I like the concept. Hopefully they offer complete uppers.

  • Don Ward

Dafuq is this mall ninja garbage? $700 for a .22 with a bunch of superfluous c rap attached to it? What is the point of these weapons other than to look tacticool?

    • Tma

You dont want it, you dont buy it. Whats the point of whining something you are not going to buy ??

      • Captain Obvious

I think it’s called expressing an opinion on a blog. I think that’s why they have a comment section. I tend to agree with Don about the sensibility of a $700 AR type .22. I am sure there are a few range commandos who would jump on something like this. However, If I wanted something with a 10/22 barrel I would buy a 10/22.

        • Tma

And i expressed my opinion about his comment ? Same goes to you if you dont like you dont buy it. What are you if not range commando ? Everybody who shoots different like me is a mall ninja and range commando =P Do you not understand how stupid you sound ?

    • Krizz UZA

      Dear Don:
You are absolutely right. We should have never attempted to manufacture a firearm with such technical and quality characteristics that would have appealed to potential buyers looking for them. Therefore, we are shutting down production of the entire DMK22 line, and repurposing the entire production line towards the manufacturing of self-indulgence toys for ladies.

      Yours truly:

      Krizz UZA

      • alex archuleta

When and where can I buy a self-indulgence toy for my lady? Will it have a picatinny rail and/or modular rail section attachment points?
Anyways Kriss UZA, you guys have the best sense of humor! I’ll be keeping my eye on your products for sure in both the firearm market and in the self-indulgence market as well.

      • Don Ward

What? And deprive us of the opportunity to laugh at gullible mall ninjas who will shell out $700 for a .22 rimfire rifle when they could get a CZ .22 and a Ruger 10-22 and a decent used. .22 handgun for the exact same price as your ridiculous contraption?

        No. No.

Do go on. It is hilarious watching you justify charging the same price for a .22 AR as a 5.56 in a market saturated with AR platforms
