Raven Concealment Steps Into Optics Game With The New Balor Mount

With red dot sights becoming more and more common on handguns quite a few companies have come up with solutions to add a red dot like the Trijicon RMR to a pistol without spending money sending your slide to a gunsmith to have it milled. The latest one to come to market is the Raven Concealment Balor Mount.

Victory First posted some photos on Facebook of the new mount and covered some very basic information. The new mount system is said to install in under 10 minutes with a punch and a hammer. No word on price yet, but given Raven Concealment’s price structure on the existing products I expect it to be affordable for those that are looking for a premium RMR mount for their Glock.

The coolest feature spied in the photos is an integrated┬ábackup sight system similar to XS Big Dot sights without the valley rear sight. Keep a lookout on Raven Concealment’s website for more information.

I’m glad to see companies give more options for the RMR market. Hopefully the price will encourage people (including myself) to seriously look into it. Current prices are the only thing holding me back.

Would love to see a piece on the future of small red dots and the next gen offerings.

Depending on the price point, this might finally get me in to the RMR game. Thanks Patrick.

Price aside, this is SUCH a massively better idea than almost every other aftermarket optic option that is really just there to sell a whole spare slide with questions cosmetic flare.

I’m not a fan of this generation of handgun optics. There is still too much given up with the reciprocating optic, imo. I see way too much fishing between shots.

But RCS nailed it with this, Temporary, fast, and cheap.

They’ve been on sale for months. $200.

Well, Raven has hidden them *very* well on their website. I can’t find any link there to this red dot mount. I’d like to hope that it’s compatible with the large frame Glocks, as I have a 20 and 21, but no small frames.

I’m pretty sure the sight dovetails and striker plates are the same except on the 42 and 43 (slide is wider on the 20 and 21, but the smaller sights will still fit the groove).
