Recover’s Glock Rail Solution

    Recover Glock Rails

Own a first or second generation Glock pistol, and you have rail envy? Recover Tactical has you, well, covered.

Recover Tactical applied the company’s experience from making aftermarket rail additions for the 1911 platform to the seemingly ubiquitous Austrian plastic pistols. The kit features two polymer half shells that attach to the front of the Glock’s trigger guard. Then a pair of small bolts hold the halves together under the front of the pistol.

Recover Tactical will make these rail kits for both the Glock 17 and the Glock 19. Right now the company only has the model for the G17 listed. The rails will be available only in black. I’m sure they can take a Cerakote finish if needed. The price on them is $32.45.

I don’t know if this is considered a bonus, but Recover throws in a optional integrated belt clip with the rail system. This allows you to hook onto your belt and carry IWB without a proper holster. The clip is reversible so it can be carried on either side of the body.

Frankly, I’m not a fan of these “clip holsters,” even more so on a gun with a relatively light trigger pull. These kinds of clips were popular on revolvers some 4+ decades ago, but those guns had much heavier trigger pulls. The Recover clip is not the first on the market for the Glock, and it is better than some of the other options since you don’t have to modify your pistol to use it. But, I’m not convinced it is a safe method for carry.
