Masterpiece Arms BA Lite PCR Competition Rifle

MPA BA Lite PCR Rifle

MasterPiece Arms announced a new bolt action rifle designed to compete in the Production Class of the Precision Rifle Series. Called the MPA BA Lite PCR Competition Rifle, it draws on the company’s experience in manufacturing the MPA BA Lite and other rifles and rifle chassis designed for precision shooting. To make the qualification for this class, the gun will retail for $1,999.99 – a penny shy of the maximum limit.

MasterPiece Arms uses a Savage Model 12 action and the company’s own lightweight BA chassis made of 6061 aluminum. The company offers a variety of color options using the Cerakote process. Basic color options are black, burnt bronze, flat dark earth, gun metal and tungsten. Other colors and patterns are available at a $150 premium.

These rifles can be had in right and left handed versions. Guns use 10 round AICS type magazines.

Barrels are offered in a variety of lengths, from 22″ – 26″. The barrels are made of 416R stainless steel and provided by Bergera. The company advises they use a pull button rifling process and the inspect each with a borescope. Barrels are threaded (5/8-24 TPI.) An MPA high performance muzzle brake is included.

The company offers these rifles in a number of calibers including:

  • 6mm Creedmoor
  • 6.5 Creedmoor
  • .243 Win
  • .308 Win
  • 6.5×47 Lapua
  • 6×47 Lapua (aka 6-6.5×47 Lapua)

Each rifle is hand built to order, and takes 7-10 weeks for delivery.

I think MPA pistols are dumb, but I really want their precision bolt guns o do well. I might get one in a few years, if I feel hampered by the capabilities of my RPR.

They’ve already been making them for four years, and everybody that gets their hands on one loves them.

Kind of interesting that any other color choice would disqualify you based on price. Still, it is cheaper than a Wilson Combat… anything.

So basically the only thing MPA is the stock?
