Smith & Wesson announced an expansion of its popular M&P 15-22 Sport line with the addition of the MOE SL rifles. The new models follow on the heels of the company’s revamping of the M&P 15-22 line at the beginning of the year.
At that time, the company added Magpul M-LOK handguards and MBUS sights to the guns. Now, the company has gone a bit father.
The new guns will come in two varieties: all black and black with flat dark earth furniture. In addition to the MBUS sights and M-LOK hand guard, both of the new rifles will come with the following additional Magpul products:
- MOE SL carbine stock
- MOE SL pistol grip
- M-LOK Type 2 rail covers
The SL stands for ‘slim line.’ Take a look at Timothy Yan’s review of the furniture here.
The MOE SL stock is an adjustable length buttstock that has an angled rubber butt pad. Magpul incorporated a sloped comb to improve cheek weld.
I dislike the A2 grip on the standard M&P 15-22 Sport, so the new MOE SL grip is a nice update. It has a more vertical angle along with an rougher texture for better grip. Additionally, Magpul states it is slimmer than an A2.
Both models of M&P 15-22 carry a suggested retail price of $499.
