When I was living in an NFA-unfriendly area I found comfort in my suppressed pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) .25 caliber air rifle. While the max efficient range was about 125 yards or less, the gun was super quiet, deadly accurate and could be shot safely in areas where it’s powder-burner cousins could not. I even put the old Paladin “Have gun, will travel” motto to use dispatching pests for local farmers.

Although I’ve moved on from the airgun world, the guns and the community will always have a special place in my heart (Ok, that was a bit too mushy, but you get the idea). So, when the NFAREVIEW Channel posted a new video reviewing the Airforce Condor SS PCP air rifle shooting binary explosives, I was immediately drawn in.

Adam at NFAREVIEW does a great job going through the specifications, features and and function of, well, NFA gear. But from time to time he branches out into fun areas that don’t require a $200 tax stamp. In this episode he tests the accuracy of the Condor SS and even puts it’s suppression up against some of it’s bigger brothers.

If you don’t have experience with any of the modern airguns you may be tempted to let your mind stray to the old Crossman pump rifle and pistol lines that shoot copper BB’s. However, PCP airguns like the Condor SS are a different breed altogether; they are a fun and cost-effective (pellets vs ammo) complement to suppressed rimfire shooting. I guess what I’m saying is don’t write off modern airguns until you have a chance to see them in action.

So, will an airgun setoff binary explosives? I’m not going to spoil the ending, but it’s definitely worth the watch.
