[SHOT 2016] Cerakote Coatings for Stag Arms

Stag Arms rifles with new Cerakote coating. Foliage Green (top) and Burnished Bronze.

There is good news and bad news at the Stag Arms booth this year at SHOT. First, the bad news: No new rifle models for the 2016 show. Demand is through the roof and they’re having trouble keeping up with the models already in their lineup without devoting resources to launching a new one.

The good news, though, is great. Color options for many Stag models are now available. Cerakote coatings in four colors can be ordered for a $75 upcharge on a new Stag. The color choices are Burnished Bronze, Foliage Green, Gun Metal Grey, and Desert Sand.

Cerakote coating is one of the toughest and longest-lasting firearms finishes on the market, and it resists abrasion, corrosion, and rust. The Cerakote coating is applied to the handguard, the delta ring, the upper receiver, the lower receiver, the buffer tube, the A2 grip, and the mil-spec buttstock. (Other optional grips or stocks will not have Cerakote applied.)

The Cerakote coating is available on the following Stag models: 1, 2, 2T, 3, 3T, 3TM, 5, 9, and 9T. Cerakote coating is not available on other Stag models at this time.

Personally, Murdoc digs the Burnished Bronze. One of the sample guns on display at the Stag booth is a Model 3T with a DiamondHead VRS-T free float handguard, and it looks absolutely stunning in the Burnished Bronze. My photo accompanying this post does not even begin do it justice.
