Big 3 East: Finale, Blowing Up A BMW 5 Series

SCAR BMW Safari

This past Big 3 East, they had a huge finale. They brought out a BMW 5 series, placed binary explosive all over it and let over 100 people shoot at the car with whatever they have. Pistols, ARs, SMGs, Machine Guns. A good time was had by all.

The shooting line is 168 feet long. Shooters were standing shoulder to shoulder unleashing a barrage of gun fire on the BMW.

My friend John Rodriquez, a competitive 3Gun shooter, got first shot on target.

Then my friend Matt Korevesis, of Outdoor Hub, put Canon in D to his footage of the BMW massacre. It is glorious.

Later that night we went to check on the car. It was a wreck. It looks like something from an episode of CSI minus a burnt corpse.

This bullet hole is very shocking. As this door is facing the firing line. For the round to keyhole sideways is rather scary. Perhaps someone shot the ground and the round bounced off the ground, tumbled and hit the door. Otherwise someone’s gun is really messed up.

Here is the front of the car. You can make out where the BMW badge was and the iconic grill used to be.

This was a lot of fun. I occasionally play with tannerite, responsibly, but never had the opportunity to destroy a car before. Everyone was smiling. Even Big 3 East Owner, Dillard Johnson was caught smiling. Something that is very uncharacteristic of him. But who wouldn’t smile watching this happen?

    Man, that looks like fun.

Never have I felt such deep regret at missing something, but also such profound joy that it exists. 😀

Why blow up a nice car? Why not just get several crap cars?

    • Nicholas Chen

Because we can. Lol I don’t know why it was a BMW. But it was fun.

I am just thinking economically, sorry I guess.

I should probably have worded it better: “why blow up one(1) nice car when you can blow up multiple(1+) crap cars?

It was owned by the Big 3 Event’s media director, and he was sick of fixing it.

        • Nicholas Chen

          Good to know Tim!

It breaks the heart. I had a 528 when I lived in Italy, I loved it, it was an awesome car but I couldn’t bring it back to the states because of emission standards.
