Kryptek Typhon Added to Daniel Defense Offerings

MK12 Typhon

Daniel Defense is now offering the MK12 and V11 rifles with a Kryptek Typhon finish. The camo patterns are applied through a water-transfer printing process.

The MK12 is a 5.56 NATO AR-style rifle with an 18″ 1:7″ barrel, quad rail and adjustable stock. Daniel Defense outfits the gun with a two-stage Geissele SSA trigger and improved flash suppressor. The suggested retail price with the Kryptek finish is $2,049.

The V11 is also an AR-type rifle chambered for the 5.56 NATO cartridge. The gun has a 16″ 1:7″ barrel, KeyMod SLiM RAIL handguard and the company’s pistol grip and buttstock. The weight is kept fairly low at 6.28 pounds. The retail on this one is $1,649.

    Kryptek. The Nickelback of camo.

    • andrey kireev

      I never got Kryptek craze…to me it’s like a generic commercial camo….

    • El Duderino

“I want you to notice me on the range due to my super neat geometrically patterned rifle paint scheme”

Kind of the opposite of “camouflage”

  • TheNotoriousIUD

I was just thinking “How can DD get more expensive?”

    • andrey kireev

Is that a serious question ? lol
I’m fairly certain ARs can exceed $10K if they stick enough long over-complicated / misspelled / abbreviated words, and endorsed by big names with a collector edition as a cherry on top

      • El Duderino

        The new DD A.S.S.K.I.C.K. rifle!

Advanced Special Stealth Kryptek Improved Camouflage Killtool!

MSRP $10,009.95. Stenciled “Haley” or “Suarez” on the side of the receiver: $12,009.95. Stenciled “James Yeager”… closeout of $3,009.95.

All of my money. Please take it.

      • USMC03Vet

Saw a $4k AR at a gun show. It was everything you’d imagine a 20lb range warrior AR would be.

  • Grindstone50k

Can that pattern even really be considered “camo”? Camouflage for what? Blending in to your Affliction t-shirt?

    • Dan

      And bedazzled designer jeans

    • anomad101

      Can you see me now?

  • BillC

I’m more appalled at that little, exposed gas block. Camo cost too much to get a longer handguard to cover it up and that bit’o’gas tube?

    • Anonymoose

The V11 doesn’t, and it’s basically the same rifle (maybe better since it uses a slick-sided handguard).

    • Dan

Now that you mention it, that is a little sloppy looking.

  • Squirreltakular

Could we instead get a camo pattern that would actually help with concealment? That’d be cool. Midwest Industries has to be the only non-boutique manufacturer offering multicam or anything else from the factory.

Oh well. That’s what Alumahyde and Krylon are for.

  • Anonymoose

Daniel Defense has a “Countdown to 7.62” on their website. Any idea what that’s about?

    • Rusty Shackleford

Without a doubt, it will be chambered in 7.62×45 Czech.

      • El Duderino

I’m going with 7.62x21mm Parabellum. A .30 Luger AR? Neva ben dun befo.

  • Fred Johnson

Typhon? I thought that was a typo as I’ve never heard of a typhon before. I guess I’m not old enough.

  • anomad101

Can it constipate a gnat at 300 meters?
