Kirsten Joy Weiss Shoots The Double Barrel 1911

1911 z

Kirsten Joy Weiss is a competitive Olympic style rifle shooter. She managed to get her hands on the Arsenal double barrel 1911 and fire a couple of rounds. She says comments that the double barrel 1911 is akin to shooting a S&W 500.

You guys really need to watch how the photos are cropped on the homepage – all I saw was boobs and a butt. And after that one over the “shall notify” story…..

    • TheNotoriousIUD

And you’re complaining about what now…?

      • ostiariusalpha

Joking about the grip on that ridiculous pistol. But, you know she likes it in both holes at once!

    • “All I can see are the best parts of a hot girl!!!”
      This complaint does not register.

      • Bill

But the butt is really wide, 2 magazines worth. Nobody likes a fat butt.

        • ostiariusalpha

Well, I’m changing my name to Nobody then! Huzzah for booty! This must be why I love my FS2000. ?

        • Youre right. 2/10 for sure.

        • Grindstone50k

Speak for yourself. There’s a whole song dedicated to real butts.

        • Dan

          Except Sir Mix A Lot

          • Bill

No junk in the trunk for me.

          • Dan

I like my women balanced, of course personality is everything 😉

          • DIR911911 .

            and me!!

      • USMC03Vet

        There is always one…

      • Dan

May I suggest her pilates video for your viewing?

  • SlippedThroughTheCracks

she always wears so much clothes wtf

  • hikerguy

    Gun? What gun?

    • DonDrapersAcidTrip

wow what a joke. what comedic skills.

      • mosinman

there is no need to be upset 🙂

  • Swarf

    Ha!

Picture all of the guys you know at the range getting their shimmy on to try and improve their groups…

    Unsee that.

    • Bill

Eeeww, some jiggle just waddling from their trucks to the line. Then there are the ones that need their own sports bras. And the guy who when, not if, he has a heart attack we’ll have to roll a backhoe to do chest compressions with, and the defibrillator will need another nuclear power plant on line, or we’ll just pronounce him dead and sell his corpse to Japanese whalers.

      • Tassiebush

Or just process them for tallow to light up the range at nightime. Cripes i shouldn’t make fun of fat dudes though cos I’d make a few too many candles myself come to think of it…

    • MR

Pretty sure I saw Larry Vickers do that on one of his videos, I just attributed it to adjusting footing and weight distribution. Won’t be able to watch his videos the same.

      • MR

For the next six months, Jerry Miculek’s not going to be able to hit the target because he’s too focused on keeping his butt still.

  • Chase Buchanan

In addition to the double M1911, I also really appreciated her subtle admonishment of all those horrible videos of people humiliating new female shooters. This was a class act.

  • DonDrapersAcidTrip

great I love reading a bunch of dumb sleazy comments from a bunch of fat rednecks who wear cargo shorts and camo hats

    • Bill

I resent that – I never wear shorts.

    • Cymond

No camo hat for me. I can never find the damn thing…

In all seriousness, I you won’t see any sleazy comments from me, and I don’t wear hats because I have an oddly shaped head. However, I do love my 5.11 shorts, I’m about 30 pounds overweight, and I’m a jen-u-wine West Virginia hillbilly, so I guess you got me pretty well.

    • Rock or Something

      Then don’t read them. Duh.

      • DonDrapersAcidTrip

Yeah next time I’ll know better to know what a comment is going to say before I read it. I guess if my criticism of lazy sleaziness and misogyny bothers you you could not read it too?

We got some real rocket scientists here.

        • JK

Well, you somehow know that we’re all fat rednecks in cargo shorts and camo hats. After that bit of clairvoyance, knowing what the posts are going to read should be a breeze.

  • Bill

The real tragedy is that everything she’s wearing, or not, I’d have to discourage on my range. I always recomrequire long, loose pants and long sleeved, high-collared shirts for sun and bug protection, and more importantly to keep hot brass from going down the décolletage (I bet THAT made a bunch of guys wish that Katie was writing more and could explain mysterious girl stuff). It’s all fun and games until a hot 5.56 case goes down that sphagetti-strapped tank top and a muzzle is flying around while the shooter’s trying to shake it, a pound of gravel and a 4 inch wolf spider out of her unmentionables.

    • Cymond

My now-wife once had a hot 5.56 case go down the front of her cami. She maintained her composure, put her rifle down on the shooting bench, and “cleared the malfunction”. I’m proud of how she handled herself, and she dresses more sensibly on range days now.

However, I’m not a fan of Katie. It seems every article of hers I see on TFB is little more than a corporate press release for a new product.

      • Her job is to do a set number of press releases each day. She’s just doing what’s asked of her.

        • Julio

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe that could have been made clearer from the start, or perhaps she could also have been given some “real” assignments to do, because without either she has ended up looking like a makeweight – and your comment strongly suggests that’s an unfair impression of her abilities.

        • Bill

Maybe have her dash off a piece on why low-cut tops are a bad idea when shooting, and if you are going to wear a racer-back top at least use a lot of sunscreen so your skin doesn’t wind up looking like something from Samsonite when you hit 40, not to mention the whole melanoma thing, particularly for fair-skinned ladies like this one.

          • Tay Dervis

You’re wasting your time, they’re not about to really change the way they do things now that they have gone in to corporate douche mode. RIP TFB.

        • Tay Dervis

I totally agree with Cymond. It should be about quality, not quantity. Justifying a person’s position isn’t excuse for lackluster “journalism” (which we both know is just a press release with a generic blurb attached).

Sounds like a job not worth justifying. But that’s ok, the world needs plenty of bartenders!

  • Sulaco

She was on a show with the Gunny last week, Ruff! And she can shoot to!

  • Don Ward

I came to complain about yet another lousy article on this POS mall ninja gun. I stayed for the guys opining on how attractive the girl is.

  • smartacus

i want a double barrel Ruger LCP!!!!

  • gas em up

    Weiss- sounds je#ish

    • Colin s

      And? What’s your point?

      • JK

I thought it sounds Nordic. Can’t be racist, cuz that’s more of a cultural distinction.

    • TheNotoriousIUD

      You sound stupid#ish.

  • Kjk

    This chick is pretty corny

  • atmar

there was a gun in that video???? all i saw was sexy…..and the fact that she couldnt get her hands around it was hot me thinks…..plus she kept calling it a beast…..hwow……so friggin hot

    • MR

Too bad you’re more akin to an LCP.

      • JK

Must your mother tell you everything?

      • atmar

better than your phoenix 22 😉

  • Tassiebush

I must admit I do worry that a female TFB reader might feel a bit alienated by some of these comments…

    • JK

      I blame Cosmo.

    • Bill

Yeah, all three of the female readers. In all seriousness, I see your point, but I also have come to realize that women dress for effect. We dudes are probably responsible for a lot of that. Then again, is there something wrong with appreciating an attractive woman who is incredibly skilled? Males are genetically hardwired for that. Walk through any WalMart and see who you want to breed with in order to propagate the species and pass on your genes.

      • Tassiebush

There’s nothing wrong with finding her attractive. She clearly is. Probably nothing wrong with saying that either or admiring her. I guess I’m just thinking the odd comment goes over the line and I don’t even know where the line is so I tend to steer clear of it if I think I’m getting too close. For example I’ve worked out saying stuff like “hey you look and smell extra gorgeous today! Would you be ovulating perchance?” isn’t a wise thing to say unless the female is my wife or someone else who I know definitely likes or would be amused/flattered by such comments. I’ve also learnt over time to fight my genetic default settings and to focus on women’s faces when I talk to them (admittedly it lapses when tired though). I’ve even worked out that having a curled lip like a goat or saying “I’ve got a stiffy” normally makes women uncomfortable rather than impresses them. I didn’t know all this stuff to start with but I got there and I think it’s important I share it.
I have no idea how many people check this blog out in total but going on the ever increasing growing popularity of shooting with women I think it’s really important male shooters like ourselves make it a welcoming space.

        • Tay Dervis

Lol what?? Just because a girl is small-framed and not fat, it doesn’t mean she is “clearly” attractive.

          • Tassiebush

Of course attraction is subjective but Bill and I both consider her to be attractive and I was responding to Bill. You’ve made some pretty clichéd assumptions as to why I’d see her as such.

      • DonDrapersAcidTrip

What does going out of your way to write idiotic comments instantly at the sight of any woman have to do with any of that. Pretty sure that’s not hardwired into anyone. You all are grown ass adults who carry on like dumb characters in a teen sex comedy, or a cartoon wolf character whose eyes pop out of it’s head. At least pretend like you have some dignity and class.

There is like 5 identical “gun, what gun” comments in this thread like you all are 80 year old grandpas who think your old ass jokes are the funniest thing ever and your the first to ever think to say them.

If guns ever are banned in america it’ll be because the gun community shot itself in the head by never making the slightest effort to acknowledge the existence of anyone but white male rednecks and tactical nerds.

        • Bill

          Lighten up, Francis.

Really, if you don’t think that they don’t think about what we think they look like, visit a mall. Or a nightclub. Or a concert. Or a restaurant. Or a jewelry store. Or a hair stylist.

          • DonDrapersAcidTrip

And what, that’s all for your convenience and viewing pleasure?

        • The Phantom

Personally I was impressed by a woman with bones that small shooting a double .45 with a kick on it like a mule. My wrist is the size of both of hers together.

And if you think she’s not showing off her fabulous frame in that video, you’re whack.

          • DonDrapersAcidTrip

I imagine there’s little a women could do for you to not think “she’s showing off her fabulous frame” all for your convenience

  • ghost

    I wuvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv wiggling.

  • SteveK

I’m impressed that she was able to control that dbl-45 considering her slight frame and her inability to get a good grip on it. Nice!

  • JRJ21

The ending warning about not giving a newby a beast of a gun to shoot was very wise ,Her constant looking and mugging at the camera is very disconcerting, she needs to be CALM,STEADY,SOBER AND UNDER CONTROL,The giggling and bouncing around has no place when handling any firearm.Pay attention and quit looking back at the camera. We can hear you,YOU HAVE A LOADED GUN IN YOUR HAND.

    • Bill

I dunno. She kept the muzzle downrange ever time she turned to address the camera, and that’s what counts. There are plenty of times when instructing that you have turn to speak to your class if you’ve been demonstrating. And fun is allowed.

      • JRJ21

I tell my baseball players to watch where the ball is and listen to me while on base.It is smart to look where your gun is pointing, you are attached to what it is pointing at.She has an extreme lack of awareness of this.Every bullet has a lawyer attached to it.How can you know your target if you are not looking at it.Things can change in a heartbeat..KNOW YOUR TARGET.QUIT GIGGLING.

        • JK

          “Lighten up, Francis” (everybody drink!)

          • JRJ21

Not my name goober head, the gun almost came out of her hand.Obvious she should not be shooting it,and she’s not hot n the least.

          • Tay Dervis

“Lighten up Francis” is from a movie. (Stripes with Bill Murray) and while you have a point, so does JK. We can hear you, YOU OBJECT TO THE VIDEO.

          • Tassiebush

I thought she was safe enough. She was mindful that it was big for her hands and she took the precaution of only loading one round per barrel so if she dropped it on firing it wasn’t dangerous. As for “she’s no hot in the least” why the hell would you feel compelled to share that opinion?!

          • Greg

            Beat me to it!
As Bill said, “fun is allowed.”
I saw nothing unsafe on the video.

        • MR

If you have your gun in a holster, are you constantly looking at the ground? If it’s slung over your shoulder are your eyes skyward? When scanning for threats in a defensive situation, are you constantly muzzle-sweeping everyone in the vicinity?

          • JRJ21

Always aware of muzzle orientation.Sober minded ,not giggling like a school girl, head on a swivel, not pointing a gun and craning my neck around giggling while trying to hold on to a gun too damn big for my strength,as this one is.I did not feel safe watching it on a screen let alone being actually close to her.

  • gunsandrockets

I confess I was having a Jenneke flashback too when Kirsten bounced.

I was just reading a thread over at hotairdotcom about Ronda Rousey, and in reaction to the notion of Ronda having a match against a man, too many people were leaving comments like ‘women are not competitive equals with men in any sport’. And I just had to shake my head. Apparently those people have never heard of the shooting sports.

    • JK

Big fans of the Andy Kaufman school of gender studies.

  • Core

I’m hanging out on the wrong range..

  • DonDrapersAcidTrip

you’re one those people whose definition of “freedom” is you being able to do whatever you want but nobody else conveniently having the freedom to say what an idiot you are, they’re just supposed to put up with you because for your caveman brain criticism is “censorship”

  • Some attitudes about women shooters baffles me. The last match I was in I was fortunate enough to win. You know who came in second?—-a female who works in the gun industry.

  • ghost

I am not sexist, But, any woman with a firearm is whatever she wants to be.

  • ghost

I am 71 years old. Can she cook?

  • ghost

I would say I hope she has a sense of humor, but, there is no sense to my humor.
