Lancer Systems Adaptive Magwell

Lancer Systems recently released their new Adaptive Magwell. It’s made of 6061 T6 aluminum and fit all mil-spec 5.56 magwells, it was designed to help increase the speed and ease of magazine reloads. I can see these becoming very popular on competition rifles. They retail for $99.99, check them out at

– The Lancer Adaptive Magwell is machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and is designed to fit Mil spec 5.56 AR style rifles.
– It is installed by opening the winter trigger guard and attaching the lower half to the trigger then engaging the lower component to the trigger guard attachment on the rifle.
– The upper component is then slid on from the front and attached with two allen screws.
– This will increase the diameter of the magwell increasing the speed in which the rifle can be reloaded.

So it is just a flared extension to the magwell.

    • Grindstone50k

      With a $100 price tag.

It’s good for rifles that don’t have already flared magwells I suppose.

    $99 WHAT?!?!

I was about to buy one until I saw that.

I can’t help but think a company could make a polymer version of this for a quarter of the price.

      *Cough* Magpul *Cough*

Interesting but many 3Gunners already run flared magwells. I got one from a friend at the FNH USA 3Gun match. He won a flared magwell among other prizes but he already had a flared magwell. It did not fit any of his AR lowers. He gave me his and I tried it on my ARs. It did not fit any of my lowers either. I put it on my M&P 15-22 but I had to modify the lower a bit.

So, does the trigger guard attach to the aftermarket magwell, or are you just going to leave the trigger guard hanging?

  • gunslinger

basically it makes a larger and tapered hold for the magwel? so instead of hitting the magwell exact, you can be off a little and the mag will “slide” in to the proper position?

  • The polymer Arredondo magwell is around $45, depending on the vendor.

Lancer stuff just tends to be pricey. It has nothing to do with made in the USA. For example their handguards. Their rifle length CF octagon one used to be about $310. Ap custom made a similar one for $260. Lancer’s round CF handguard at 15″ is $280, AP custom’s is $177. The lancer magwell is $100. The arrendondo polymer magwell is $45 and works with many integrated trigger guards, aftemarket trigger guards, and doesn’t position them all wonky in the process.

All of the above are made in the USA.
